It looks like "Saudi ambassador" is incorrect - it's more like "Saudi speaker:"
Wikipedia describes Al-Qahtani as "economics professor at the Institute of Diplomatic Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Saudi Arabia)." The above article appears to be corrected and describes him as "Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Salam Holding Company". The event is described as the "Arab-African Conference, which was attended by representatives of international, regional and Arab bodies and organisations, as well as a number of ambassadors and Arab personalities."
It is disturbing, of course, but also notable that there is no in-between in terms of feeling "unwell" and lights out. No chest clutching, putting down the head (dizzy), grasping the podium or gasping for air. Of course, I've not a lot of experience to draw on, but is this not a signal in of itself?
