“I was very open and told the President of the European Commission that it’s clear she’s suspected to be connected to the largest vaccine purchase in the history of the European Commission, that she exchanged secret text messages with the director of Pfizer, and when it was published in the European Parliament, the report was entirely redacted.”
In a dynamic and candid address before the Slovak parliament, Prime Minister Robert Fico unveiled a groundbreaking initiative – establishing a dedicated secretariat charged with unearthing the critical aspects surrounding handling the COVID-19 pandemic. This undertaking aims to shatter the veil of secrecy surrounding the pandemic’s origins, scrutinize vaccine safety, and lay bare the intricacies of the controversial Pfizer-EU agreement.
Prime Minister Fico boldly confronted members of Progressive Slovakia and the opposition. He challenged them with piercing questions, demanding answers. “Have you confronted the unsettling statistics on the alarming surge in deaths due to various cardiovascular causes following vaccinations? Do you dare deny it?” These probing questions were a clarion call to address the grave concerns surrounding vaccine safety and the government’s pandemic response.
Fico did not mince words as he continued, “Of course, you attempt to deflect and proclaim that our vaccination efforts were unparalleled. But how many expired vaccine doses lie unused, and how much taxpayer money has been recklessly squandered?” These questions laid bare the urgent need for transparency in the procurement and distribution of vaccines.
The Prime Minister raised another formidable inquiry, this time regarding the procurement of medical devices and tests. He disclosed, “What do you know about the acquisition of medical equipment and diagnostic tests? Were you aware of the conspicuous ties between a Trnava-based company and a leader from the opposition?” This revelation casts a long shadow of doubt over the integrity of government procurement processes.
Fico did not stop there; he cast aspersions on the government’s management of pandemic measures. He stated, “What can you tell us about your management strategies? Can you explain why, in our estimation, the incidence of the disease surged far more dramatically here than in other nations following the implementation of various measures?” These comments threw into question the effectiveness of previous government decisions and underscored the urgent need for an impartial evaluation of Slovakia’s Covid response.
The Prime Minister offered a telling comparison between Slovakia’s pandemic response and that of other countries. He declared, “And while we ridiculed other nations, we mocked Russia for relying on individual patient visits to pharmacies, and yet they fared far better than Slovakia.” This observation underscored the pressing need for an objective and comprehensive evaluation of Slovakia’s response to the global crisis.
With unyielding conviction, Fico highlighted the staggering death toll, revealing, “We are confronted with a tragic figure of 21,000 lives lost, a grim testament to the shortcomings of our governments since 2020.” These deaths cast a long, haunting shadow over Slovakia’s pandemic management.
The Prime Minister turned his attention to suspicions at the European level, remarking candidly, “I made it clear to the President of the European Commission that suspicions abound regarding his involvement in the largest vaccine procurement deal in the history of the European Commission. There were whispers of clandestine text messages exchanged with Pfizer’s director.” These allegations cast a pall over the transparency of vaccine procurement on a European scale.
In conclusion, Prime Minister Fico reaffirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to uncovering the truth. He declared, “Today, one fact is irrefutable: Previous governments failed abysmally in their management of Covid-19, leaving 21,000 individuals to grapple with the consequences.” He also castigated the extravagant spending on superfluous medical supplies and vaccines.
To address these pressing concerns, the Slovak government has erected a committee charged with an exhaustive inquiry. Prime Minister Fico expressed faith in the committee’s leader, Dr. Kotlar, Deputy of the National Council, and pledged to disseminate the findings with utmost transparency to the Slovak public.
