It's a bit ironic; Zelensky is going around saying, "Hey don't forget us, and you better not send OUR money to Israel." Hamas is making a similar, attention-getting bid: "Hey, don't forget about us, just because Saudi Arabia and much of the rest of the Arab World is making peace with Israel." I took a break from my studies in history before I finished my degree.
When I returned to take my last few classes, I learned that my break was way too long and that the students had changed. Gone were the "let's learn the different approaches to history days." Or, "Wow, the Classics are so cool!"
Instead, I had classmates who were predicting the future based on the past, literally saying out loud that "this is the next thing that's going to happen because that happened," with no questions from the preceptor.
I spoke out in class to ask, "Since when is historical study meant to be predictive?" No one answered. They ignored me. I was not as young as they were. I clearly outed myself as not being an SJW.
These kids were being taught that the world will be a certain way until the next cycle, to prepare and watch out for it and/or to become the change they wish to see in the world. Don't even get my started with the phrase, "transformative change." Ugh.
