I'm not sure what the point of Turkey joining the so-called " Brics " is. The " Brics " don't really do anything after all. It would be better to get Kazakhstan on board to make them the " Bricks ":).

Any step towards getting rid of US hegemony is good, IMO. Right now, it looks like most trading in anything has to use the dollar, and the US uses that to impose sanctions on the world. BRICS is working to trade in each others' currencies, cutting out the middleman. The EU is the US' lapdog. I am surprised Erdogan wanted to join, since he maintains a neutral/playing both sides against the other stance, it seems to me. Trading purposes, most likely.

A strong central power, unless it is used negatively like Biden allegedly has done to get rich, is usually good for world peace. There has to be things in place to keep people from stomping on the weak or to just gain land and more power (example is Ukraine and their lithium mines at risk - the real reason behind this war)... Without it, nations would be at war on a regular basis...it's human nature to a great extent. The reason everything is a mess right now is because of the weakness of this administration and their people in place. No respect means other nations don't fear a reprisal and that equals opportunity.

Well, IMO the US has misused its power for the sake of profit and for just being able to exercise power. Really, disenfranchising the rest of the world, or trying to, for the sake of profit and power. That is on the US. Perhaps BRICS will be strong enough. They do say they will not take any country that participates in sanctions. Of course, the US/EU/NATO may instigate WWIII and none of this will matter anyway.

A strong central power - does the world need or want this - 1996, 60 Minutes, Madelyn Albright, SOS for Bill Clinton, Democrat -

“We have heard that half a million [Iraqi] children have died. I mean, that is more children than died in Hiroshima,” asked Stahl, “And, you know, is the price worth it?”

“I think that is a very hard choice,” Albright answered, “but the price, we think, the price is worth it.”

Also - yeah, next to all those children, the dead Palestinians are small potatoes for the US, amiright? This is, IMO, why the hegemony has to end. It does not bring people into line - it enrages them, and they will, I feel, eventually strike back. Which will hurt me too, but I have no say in what "our" government does in any way.

All in tandem...good versus evil. People better choose and understand on which side they stand.
