When we normalize crazy, we get more of it. The crazy will continue as long as we tolerate it. Naive tolerance is not an effective survival skill. We need to decide what our standards are, and be intolerant of anything that undermines them. Societies without standards don't survive.

"Unacceptable Jessica" accepts comments from "paid subscribers only," which makes me wondering who is paying for her fear-mongering. Is that why she is honest about being "unacceptable"?

While the technology she is describing does exist, nobody could stop the chain reaction it would initiate, so it is highly unlikely that it has been implemented in public.

When Kaliningrad is mentioned, I can't help remembering Köningsberg, where Kant summed up the premises of traditional philosophy and wrote his Prolegomena.

That brings up General Patton's remards, "We fought the wrong enemy" and "We have just destroyed the most advanced civilization on Earth." He died under suspicious circumstances shortly after saying these.

Now, whether Patton was right or not, it doesn't matter.

What matters is the mess left behind.
