I'm interested in how microorganisms and parasites affect mentation. It's been known since the 1850s that people with fungal infections show certain behavioral traits. They eat too rapaciously and they become easily angered. I felt this with my own candida infection. This also relates to how a parasite, such as a tape worm, can inject hunger hormones to make people overeat certain items. A parasite could actually reward the behaviors it likes by releasing happiness chemicals, and punish the behaviors it doesn't like with stress chemicals. This relationship erodes the autonomy of the individual will.
