I come from a different culture, a pub culture where people held court and shouting opinions was sport. Differences were welcomed and no one would take umbrage for another point of view. There are so many positives here, and there are differences too, people don't take kindly to interruptions they are considered rude, and also people seem to get very angry at those who hold different points of view, I could not understand it for a long time. The only issue that has made me very angry has been 'mandates' for schools, universities and jobs, where a person was given a Sophie's choice, education or shot, feed your family or shot. Those are real violations against basic human rights. Opinions, not so much. My opinions are so often wrong I am grateful that family members simply disagree without venom.
