The life cycle depends upon CO2 being utilized by plants that in combination with H2O and sunlight, create sugars and O2 which is then expelled back into the atmosphere. Animals including humans need O2 in order to remain alive. Removing CO2 will result in decreased plant life if it could be done at a large enough scale. Mass starvation would be the predictable result-->famine.
There is no good reason to remove CO2 from the atmosphere, only evil ones. Presumably the questions that were asked in the article about the intent of this outrageous technology and its benefactor/sponsor were rhetorical only.
