Strange, many of my paid subscribers are not US residents and it worked for them. Its done through Stripe and it accepts international payments as far as I know. You can try ko-fi link I posted as an alternative it accepts payments from 40 countries . I agree that Substack should give more payment options
Hurray the normal method of subscription (not ko-fi) accepts non-US credit cards now! They just changed it in the last few weeks since I tried last time. Maybe they did pay attention to my support request back then. I've subscribed now. Congratulations on your 4000 subscriber milestone! Thanks!
