I used to own and operate my own commercial fishing boat in Alaska, and have spent a lot of time on the water. If a ship loses power, the first thing anyone with any sense would do is drop anchor so you don't end up in even more trouble. I can't figure out why that didn't happen in this case. It sure seems they had plenty of time to set an anchor to prevent hitting the bridge at all.
