Oil slick/chemical spill from jetty/harbour. That's why getting in the ocean during a fire isn't 100% safe although staying on land is 100% not safe. The heat comes in waves and feels and sounds like a bomb especially with petrol sources exploding.

In still air, flames shoot straight up and quite high. With high winds, they lie flat at least as far as high if in no wind and probably farther. As another wrote, liquid fuel from ruptured containers flowing into the water will cause allow flame atop the water. This can be easily seen in footage of the aftermath of the Tsunami we surrendered a few years back here in Japan.
There are enough questions about how it began and the response of the local authorities. Please do not discredit these by stating that what is common in wind blown fires is something other.
With all due respect, and with utmost sensitivity to the HORRIBLE trauma, I do hope and wish that those who went thru this horrible even will turn to the Lord. This does show that there are more important things than money and power.

The fire was just beside Safeway he is walking along the highway with all cars pact with residents. He gets to the beginning of the line of STOPPED cars and sees it’s a police officer holding the cars back. So he asks the police officer why are you holding the line there is no one in front and I just came from Safeway the fire is just behind it. Officer responded “I have orders to hold them here”. So he kept walking gets to a safer beach area turns around and STILL sees NO ONE driving down the road. At that point he hears popping of gas tanks and screaming of the people.
The horror of this is unimaginable. To have so many failures in public safety systems is not coincidental. Hawaiians have always been treated like second class citizens by the wealthy and corrupt politicians that invade their islands. Hawaii should vote for independence.

I can relate. I almost lost my home in 1998, to an adjacent stable fire. Only two miracles that occured saved my home, while the stable burned to the ground. Being in a fire is extremely traumatic.
On the 7th of january CA capitol had wind of 75 miles per hour. I didn't see a SINGLE BROKEN GLAS, not to speak about totally MISSING GLASS everywhere. If you add fire to the wind, you still have way to go to let all the glass disappear. Thank you for the temperature table it will be needed, for a proof of crime, add glass if you can find it. Just double save everything so you do not loos any data like me..

I pray this be the catalyst to wake the rest up. And that fat child trafficker Orca showing up w a news crew, she knew there was going to be kids, so sick. Should have locked her up before.
