Holy bat-crap, bat-thing. I never thought about this. I was under the assumption that the FDA did not do actual testing, but allowed the drug/food/chemical/etc companies to do their own testing (in house or sub-contracted) and submit it to the FDA for approval or rejection.
It would seem rather impossible for the FDA to have enough equipment to study everything that comes into their orbit for approval, let alone enough qualified employees. It might even be possible that the FDA uses A/I for the approval process and that is why they approve so much deadly junk.
The same could be said of many 3-letter government agencies. But I see where there are some 28 million government workers and you have to wonder what all of them actually do or if they are even real people.
