The Pentagon has warned that an impasse in Congress could hinder efforts to teach Kiev’s pilots how to fly US fighter jets
A looming US government shutdown amid partisan bickering in Congress threatens to slow the training of Ukrainian pilots as they prepare to fly American-made F-16 fighter jets against Russian forces, the Pentagon has warned. “Absolutely, there could be impacts to training,” Pentagon spokeswoman Sabrina Singh said on Thursday in a press briefing.
Kiev has been unwilling to assist Warsaw’s efforts to probe the November 2022 incident, the Polish justice minister has said
A missile that killed two Polish farmers in the border village of Przewodow last November was fired by Ukrainian forces, a formal Polish probe into the matter has concluded. The findings were announced by the country’s justice minister, Zbigniew Ziobro, on Thursday. “The investigation conducted by Polish prosecutors yielded an opinion that conclusively shows that this projectile was a Ukrainian missile,” Ziobro stated during a press conference in Lublin.
With the failure of its summer counteroffensive, the Kiev regime is stepping up revenge attacks on high-profile targets in Russia's Crimea and other regions — with help from NATO. Former US Marine, independent geopolitical researcher and writer Brian Berletic has warned that the West was sailing dangerously close to the wind.
NATO members are drawing dangerously close to direct involvement in the Ukraine conflict, a former US Marine told Sputnik, noting that when it came to the military bloc's stand-off approach to hostilities, "the ten foot pole is now two feet long."
An unscheduled Russian military VIP plane touched down in Pyongyang this week, days after North Korean leader Kim Jong Un made a rare trip to his neighbor for talks the US said likely focused on arms transfers.
While nuclear powers such as the United States and France are not thought to have increased their arsenal from Jan 2022 to Jan 2023, there has been an overall increase in the number of stockpiled nuclear warheads in this period, globally.
As Statista's Martin Armstrong notes, chiefly China, but also Russia, North Korea, Pakistan and India have led to this uptick, expanding the number of the weapons which they have at their disposal - be it stored or already deployed - by a combined total of 86. As this chart illustrates, this continues a trend which began in 2018, ending a long cooldown period dating back to the late 80's when there were more than 64,000 stockpiled worldwide.
Joe Biden previewed his upcoming campaign on Thursday, casting Americans’ choice as one between democracy and extremism. Next year’s election will demonstrate the salience of the argument and the suitability of Biden as its champion.

Outspoken conservative media personality Bill O'Reilly joined Tucker Carlson (the man who replaced him in his primetime Fox News slot) for a wide-ranging discussion of the dismal state of the world, and why progressive politicians are to blame.

Canada: The Great Replacement
Canada’s population grew by more than one million in 2022. This increase was equivalent to 2.7%. Such a rate would double Canada’s population in 26 years.
When I moved to Canada in 2003, its population was 32 million. Today, it is 40 million, an increase of 25%. Had immigration not occurred, the Canadian population would have fallen, given its fertility rate of 1.47, which itself would have been lower had immigration not occurred. But let us not get into the nitty-gritty when there is an 800-pound gorilla in the room.
The chances of a full-blown war between Israel and Iran are escalating with every month and could happen as early as 2025, the authors of an explosive new book told World Israel News in an interview on Wednesday.
According to Yonah Jeremy Bob and Ilan Evyatar, two Israeli journalists whose recently published book, Target Tehran, chronicles the history of the Israel-Iran nuclear conflict, war is likely to break out even if the U.S. and Iran succeed in negotiating a return to the 2015 nuclear accords, which Israel opposes.

No longer political: China’s recent military exercises a DRY RUN to INTERCEPT U.S. forces rushing to defend Taiwan
The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) has recently conducted military drills in the vicinity of Taiwan. But this time, it wasn't done to send a message but to practice intercepting U.S. forces that would come to the aid of the island nation.
Taiwanese authorities and defense analysts have pointed out the "silence" of these military exercises, which feature swarms of fighter jets and warships. Previous large-scale military maneuvers from Beijing often came with waves of propaganda meant to intimidate Taipei.
Shrimp have become the latest addition to a growing list of food sources targeted by mRNA gene therapy technology. An Israeli company seeking to bring mRNA vaccines to shrimp farming has raised $8.25 million from a group of venture capitalists to promote and improve animal health in marine species through its orally administered RNA-particle platform.
ViAqua, a biotechnology company, created an RNA-based vaccine product that uses ribonucleic acid interference (RNAi) to manipulate gene expression in shrimp. RNAi is a biological process where RNA molecules are used to inhibit gene expression or translation by neutralizing targeted mRNA molecules.

Israeli researchers discovered a cave containing the 2,300-year-old remains of a young woman they believe was a courtesan during the Hellenistic period. Along with her remains, they discovered a well-preserved, rare bronze mirror.
On Wednesday, the Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA) announced that the tomb, dating from the 4th or 3rd century BCE, was discovered in a cave on a rocky slope near Kibbutz Ramat Rachel near Hebron Road in southern Jerusalem.
Researchers believe the remains were of a young female courtesan (referred to as a hetaira in Ancient Greek) of Greek origin who was accompanying a high official in the army and the Hellenistic government on his journey through the Land of Israel. The woman had been cremated, a common practice in the Hellenistic world, leaving charred bones.
