Joe Biden is considering striking Iranian naval assets in the Persian Gulf in response to deadly drone attacks - as Trump and GOP slam president for failure to deter Tehran - despite multiple warnings

Joe Biden is weighing up launching strikes on Iranian military assets in the Persian Gulf after three Americans were killed in Jordan by a Tehran-backed drone.

The president has demanded advisors present him with options on how to respond to the attack without dragging the US into battle in the Middle East, Politico reports. Insiders revealed any revenge bombings will taken place in the coming days as the commander-in-chief and military brass study a range of targets.

Hamas rejected a hostage deal drafted in Paris over the weekend because it did not include a permanent ceasefire.

Israeli counterterrorism forces foiled an October 7-inspired terror attack overnight on Tuesday, targeting a cell hiding and planning the attack from the Ibn Sina hospital in Jenin, the West Bank.

According to a joint statement by the IDF, Israel Police's YAMAM counterterrorism forces, and the Shin Bet, Hamas terrorist Mohammad Jalamna was killed during the operation, along with two fellow terrorists who hid alongside him at the hospital.

Syrian state media said on Monday that “a number of Iranian advisers” were killed in an alleged Israeli attack south of the capital, in a rare acknowledgment by Damascus of Iranian casualties in strikes on Syrian territory attributed to Israel. It also said civilians were killed but did not give a figure for either set of fatalities. Iran’s ambassador to Syria had earlier said there were no Iranian casualties in the strike.

Elon Musk reveals first human has received brain implant from Neuralink ‘and is recovering well’

Elon Musk on Monday announced that the first person has had a Neuralink microchip implanted into their brain. ‘The first human received an implant from @Neuralink yesterday and is recovering well,’ he wrote on X. ‘Initial results show promising neuron spike detection.’

The company aims to implant microchips into the brains of paralyzed people, and allow them to move their bodies using their thoughts. Neuralink received Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance in May 2023 for its first trial to test the company’s implant in humans – a critical milestone for the startup. Until Sunday, the chips had only been implanted in monkeys and pigs.

A massive fire has engulfed Feather Crest Farms, located east of Kurten, Texas, in Brazos County, causing widespread alarm and prompting a massive response from multiple fire departments.

The fire, which was reported just after 5 p.m. near Fickey Road east of Kurten, has become a major concern for local authorities and residents. At approximately 6:30 p.m., Bryan Texas Utilities announced that, in order to ensure the safety of firefighters responding to the fire, system operators would be temporarily disconnecting service for approximately 140 customers.
