Houthis Boast Of Fresh Attack On 'Several' American Warships

A military spokesman for Yemen's Houthis has announced the group carried out fresh attacks Tuesday, as they continue keeping up the pressure on the US-led naval coalition patrolling the Red Sea. 

Significantly, the spokesman announced in the new operation attacks using kamikaze drones "targeting several American warships in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea."

Yemen's Iran-linked Houthis have already been deploying both aerial and sea drones (or boat/surface drones) against international vessels and warships in the Red Sea, alongside ballistic missiles. The last several days have seen direct hits on commercial tankers, as we've detailed. 

But there are new reports the Houthis have yet another 'toy' in their arsenal, with help from Iran, and it has been used in attacks this past weekend: an unmanned submarine. "The U.S. conducted what it called self-defense strikes on five targets in the Houthi-controlled area of Yemen after the Houthis employed an unmanned submarine for the first time since attacks in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden began, the Pentagon said," according to ABC, detailing events which happened Sunday.

Syria’s state-run SANA news agency said Israeli warplanes fired missiles at the building from over the Golan Heights.

The EU has agreed its 13th package of sanctions against Russia, the EU’s Belgian presidency announced on Wednesday on X (formerly Twitter). The package will be formally approved in time for the second anniversary of the start of the Russian military operation in Ukraine on February 24. Brussels has placed 12 rounds of restrictions on Russia since the start of the conflict in February 2022. The existing sanctions already target a broad range of sectors and include trade embargoes, travel bans and individual sanctions against Russian businessmen and public officials.

The United States is grooming Asia for a war with China, peace activist and political analyst KJ Noh told Sputnik’s The Critical Hour on Tuesday.

While discussing reports that the US will have nearly half of its aircraft carriers deployed in the Pacific, Noh noted that it is the largest gathering of US naval forces in the Pacific since World War Two. “Remember, it's not just five aircraft carriers. A UK university hospital system has claimed that milk produced by trans-women “is as good for babies” as biological women’s breast milk.

The Telegraph reports a University of Sussex Hospitals NHS Trust’s (USHT) “letter to campaigners” noted that “after a combination of drugs,” trans-women’s milk is “comparable to that produced following the birth of a baby.” Trans-women - biological men - must take the hormone progestin in order to develop milk-producing glands. Drugs such as domperidone (which can be prescribed for biological women who have difficulty breastfeeding) are then needed for lactation.

In M.C. and J.C. v. Indiana Department of Child Services, Mary and Jeremy Cox are appealing to the Supreme Court after they were investigated by Indiana officials for refusing to refer to their son using pronouns and a name inconsistent with his biological sex. Becket is pursuing the case on behalf of the Coxes, arguing state courts allowed Indiana to keep the child from living in his parents’ home due to their disagreement with the child’s gender identity because of their religious beliefs.
