OPEC+ confirms oil production cut
The biggest output reduction since early 2020 has come despite US pressure to pump more
OPEC+ member states have agreed an oil production cut of two million barrels per day, a statement published on the group’s website reads.
The reduction, which is the largest cut since early 2020, will take effect in November, the cartel announced on Wednesday.

Supplies of Russian gas to Italy through Austria resumed on Wednesday, Russia’s energy giant Gazprom said in a statement posted on its Telegram channel. The enforced suspension occurred during the weekend over the application of new regulations.
The company added that it managed to find a solution with Italian buyers to restart gas sales amid legal changes in Austria, which forced Gazprom to stop deliveries on Saturday.

Meanwhile American drivers could face another increase in gas prices in what could end up being a massive setback for the Biden administration.

Rystad Energy AS analyst Louise Dickson was on Bloomberg TV earlier today and explained a much tighter oil market is ahead following the announcement of OPEC+ cuts.
"We're now steering down into a much tighter oil market for the remainder of 4Q 2022, in particular December 2022, where we could see a split from a surplus to draws," Dickson said.
He also pointed out:
"OPEC+ could in fact sort of unintentionally spur a bit of a supercycle in pricing and this is a bit of a precarious situation to put the market into".
So is brent headed back over $100 a barrel?

Mortgage Application Pace Plunges To 25-Year Low As Housing Recession Deepens
The pace of mortgage applications has fallen to a multi-decade low amid high housing interest rates, according to the latest data from the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA).
The Market Composite Index, a measure of mortgage loan application volume, declined by 14.2 percent on a seasonally adjusted basis for the week ended Sept. 30, 2022, compared to a year earlier. The Refinance Index fell 18 percent from the previous week, while the Purchase Index registered a decrease of 13 percent.

Months ago, the Biden administration announced it would begin releasing oil from the strategic reserve in order to bring prices down. It worked. My guess is that they're still doing it. My further guess is that they will cease doing it the day after election day... what a coincidence! A double whammy, on top of what the Saudi's just did!
