Hamas Warns No Hostage Will Leave "Alive" If Demands Aren't Met

Hamas says it's ready and willing for another temporary truce and hostage/prisoner deal exchange with Israel, while issuing a new warning Sunday saying that if its demands aren't met, no hostage would leave the Gaza Strip alive.

"Neither the fascist enemy and its arrogant leadership... nor its supporters... can take their prisoners alive without an exchange and negotiation and meeting the demands of the resistance," Hamas spokesman Abu Obeida said in a televised broadcast.

Speaking to CNN’s Jake Tapper about the war, which has entered its third month, Blinken said that the US has been conducting discussions with Israel about its “duration” as well as “how it’s prosecuting this campaign against Hamas.”

Iran's foreign minister: Neither Iran nor Israel believe in two-state solution

The only thing Iran and Israel share is that both do not believe in a two-state solution, Iran's foreign minister Hossein Amirabdollahian said on Monday via translation at an international forum in Doha.

During the forum, Amirabdollahian reiterated Iran's proposal that a referendum be held to determine the fate of Palestine, with only descendants of those who lived there prior to 1948 being permitted to vote.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday called for Hamas fighters to surrender, declaring it the “beginning of the end” for the terrorist group.

“In recent days dozens of Hamas terrorists have been surrendering to our forces,” Netanyahu said in an on-camera statement while speaking in Hebrew. “They are laying down their weapons and handing themselves over to our heroic fighters.”

“It will take more time, the war is in full swing, but this is the beginning of the end for Hamas,” the prime minister continued. “I say to the Hamas terrorists: it is over. Don’t die for Sinwar. Surrender – now.”

A US F-16 fighter jet pilot ejected moments before his plane crashed into the Yellow Sea off the Korean Peninsula, according to Yonhap News. 

The jet crashed into the water on Monday morning during a training flight near the US air base in Gunsan, South Korea, approximately 111 miles from Seoul. It has been reported the pilot has been rescued and US officials in South Korea and South Korea's defense ministry spokesman could not immediately be reached for comment.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration could not provide information on a confirmed side effect of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine, according to a newly disclosed document.

FDA staffers said in the document, from 2021, that one of the agency's top surveillance systems was unable to provide details on heart inflammation after Pfizer vaccination. The FDA's Sentinel program was described in the document as "NOT sufficient to identify the outcomes of myocarditis and pericarditis due to reasons identified." Pericarditis is inflammation of the pericardium, or the membrane around the heart.
