Israel, terror groups renew combat in Gaza: ‘Hamas violated the ceasefire’
Hamas fires rockets, fails to provide list of hostages to be released, prompting military to launch airstrikes, warn Khan Younis residents to flee south * Talks said ongoing
The Israel Defense Forces resumed its military offensive in the Gaza Strip on Friday after a week-long truce as the Hamas terror group broke the ceasefire, firing rockets into Israel and failing to provide a list of hostages it intended to release by 7 a.m.
In response, the IDF said it was renewing combat seven days after fighting ceased, during which time 105 civilians were released from Hamas captivity in Gaza, including 81 Israelis, 23 Thai nationals, and 1 Filipino, in exchange for 210 Palestinian prisoners, all of them women or minors. Israel also allowed an influx of humanitarian aid into the Strip. It is believed that 137 hostages are still being held by Hamas and other terror groups.
IDF orders evacuation of suspected Sinwar hideout as ceasefire ends
Attempts to extend the ceasefire and secure the release of additional hostages appeared to have failed overnight.
The IDF ordered civilians in Khan Yunis, the city where Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar is believed to be hiding, to evacuate on Friday morning as the ceasefirebetween Israel and Hamas ended, warning "the city of Khan Yunis is a dangerous combat zone," according to Palestinian reports.
On Friday morning, Hamas renewed rocket fire toward southern Israel and failed to provide an adequate list of hostages to release to extend the ceasefire deal, with Israel announcing that this stood in violation of the ceasefire agreement and that the war was resuming.

A document obtained by Israeli authorities at least a year before the attack “outlined, point by point, exactly the kind of devastating invasion that led to the deaths of about 1,200 people,” the newspaper reported.

“There are numerous accounts of sexual violence during the abhorrent acts of terror by Hamas on 7 October that must be vigorously investigated and prosecuted,” Guterres wrote on X, more than 50 days after the terror onslaught. “Gender-based violence must be condemned. Anytime. Anywhere.”
Hamas Also Slaughters Muslims
Awad Darawshe, 23, an Arab-Israeli paramedic, remained behind, refusing [on October 7] to abandon the wounded. "I speak Arabic. I think I can manage," Darawshe said, supposing that he could reason with the terrorists. Perhaps he thought they would not harm a fellow Muslim Arab. He was wrong.
…Hamas has repeatedly demonstrated that it cares nothing for the well-being of Arabs and Muslims. From their luxury homes and hotel rooms in the safety of Qatar and Turkey, Hamas leaders give the orders to attack Israel and then sit back and let the world weep over the destruction they wrought upon their own people.
