Former Russian president Dmitry Medvedev has warned that the missile explosion which killed two people in Poland has brought the West closer to World War III.
The incident “proves just one thing: waging a hybrid war against Russia, the West moves closer to the World War”, the ex-president, who is now the deputy chair of Russia’s Security Council, wrote on Twitter on Wednesday. He also put the words “missile strike” in quotation marks.

A drone has struck an oil terminal in Russia’s Oryol Region, some 200km (124 miles) from the Ukrainian border, according to local Governor Andrey Klychkov.
The region is not adjacent to Ukraine, but borders Kursk and Bryansk where officials reported multiple Ukrainian attacks after Russia launched its military operation in the neighboring state on February 24.

Despite the US, Poland, and NATO's Secretary General all having at this point admitted that Tuesday's deadly Polish border incident was not due to a Russian attack, but instead was "likely caused by a Ukrainian air defense missile" - according to Jens Stoltenberg's own words, on Wednesday the Ukrainian government is still clinging to its accusations that Russia attacked a NATO ally.
Doubling down on the claims, Kyiv is now requesting immediate access to the site of the blast in the Polish village of Przewodów, in order to conduct its own investigation. And yet it sounds like Ukrainian officials are already 'certain' in their conclusions. "Ukraine requests immediate access to the site of the explosion," Secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council, Oleksiy Danilov, said on Twitter.

Key features of the plan include withdrawal of all Russian troops from Ukrainian territory, the assurance of nuclear safety, food security including the ability to freely export, and an "all for all" prisoner swap.

The vessel is owned by Israeli billionaire Idan Ofer. Gulf News reported that the tanker is "Liberian-flagged."
