Ukraine urges citizens to leave South due to counteroffensive plans
Kiev will launch its military action in the near future, Deputy Prime Minister Irina Vereshchuk said
Ukrainian authorities are urging their citizens to leave the southern regions of the country, which are now under the control of the Russian army, Deputy Prime Minister Irina Vereshchuk said on Sunday, as Kiev is preparing a counteroffensive in this direction.
According to Vereshchuk, the armed forces of Ukraine will launch a counteroffensive in the near future. “I don’t know in what numbers this will happen, but I know for sure that there should [in the cities of the alleged theater of operations] definitely not be women and children. It is clear that there will be active hostilities, including shelling, so we urge our citizens to urgently evacuate,” Vereshchuk added.
Russia suspends operation of major gas pipeline to Europe
The flow of Russian gas through Nord Stream 1 has been suspended due to planned maintenance work
The flow of Russian gas to Germany through the Nord Stream Baltic Sea pipeline has been suspended.
Operator Nord Stream AG said that it would be shut down for 10 days starting Monday for routine maintenance work. During that time, all gas flows via the pipeline will stop. The operator highlighted that the stoppage had previously been agreed with all partners.
Russia targets EU, cutting off Kazakhstan's oil exports
This week, Moscow halted crude oil exports from Kazakhstan via a Black Sea port. Kazakhstan is the EU's fifth-largest supplier and this effectively reduces oil imports. The search is now on for alternative routes.
In a telephone conversation on July 4, Kazakhstan's president Kassym-Jomart Tokayev assured EU Council President Charles Michel of his country's support in helping the 27-nation bloc overcome its current energy crisis.
French, German Leaders Warn Populations "Prepare For Total Cut-Off Of Russian Gas" As Social Unrest Looms
European populations are bracing for a frigid upcoming winter amid an impending avalanche of high energy costs and emerging inflation. On Sunday French Economy and Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire warned that Russia is poised to totally halt gas supplies to Europe and that people must now "prepare".
"Let's prepare for a total cut-off of Russian gas; Today that is the most likely option," Le Maire told an audience at an economic conference in Aix-en-Provence.
He later additionally explained to reporters, "You also have to prepare load-shedding plans, we are doing it. It means looking in a very specific way at each company, each employment area; Which are the companies that should reduce their energy consumption and which are the ones that cannot."

The Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) released a terrifying new simulation of a monster earthquake rocking the Seattle Fault that would produce a tsunami as high as four stories in the central business district of Seattle.

There’s still over $40B in cargo on container ships waiting offshore
Anchorages continue to fill with waiting container ships off East and Gulf Coast ports, where vessel queues have now far outgrown those off the West Coast. Along all three coasts combined, the number of waiting container vessels remains exceptionally high.
There were 125 container ships waiting off North American ports on Friday morning, according to an analysis of ship-tracking data from MarineTraffic and queue numbers from California.
That’s down 16% from 150 waiting ships in January, when West Coast congestion peaked, but up 36% from 92 ships a month ago.

My take away: life experience and listening to the sage advice of kindhearted, healthy elderly persons goes much further than the referenced articles.
I'm starting to believe these articles were "assignments" to tell people to do what's NOT good for them. How many more of these exist?
Here's my advice:
- Everything in moderation.
- Variety is the spice of life.
- A little dirt never hurt.
- An apple a day, keeps the doctor away (... and wow isn't chicken soup just amazing!?!)
- Move it or lose it.
- The greatest things in life are free.
- Do something every day that makes you feel like you're a kid or teenager again.
- Pick your battles carefully.
- Don't make anything more complicated than it needs to be.
- Truth is the most efficient path to the exact same place.
- The more time you spend looking at yourself in the mirror or admiring others on your phone is time you take away from taking care of the most important part of self ... the inside. Physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.
- Avoid "do as I say, not as I do" people.
- Never settle with "whatever" or "as long as you say so". Question everything.
The accidents and fires were caused by cyber attacks. They are easy to do for pros.
