Russian President Vladimir Putin met with the head of the Wagner private military company, Evgeny Prigozhin, several days after the group aborted a mutiny as part of a Belarus-mediated deal, Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said on Monday.

The group’s power brokers have been holding “frantic, last-minute” negotiations to finalize their agreement on a security declaration for Kiev, Politico reported on Sunday, citing four unidentified officials familiar with the talks.

Israel's Knesset to vote on controversial judicial reform bill Monday

Passage of the controversial "reasonableness standard bill" will spark "Day of Resistance" protests throughout Israel, protests leaders warned.

The Knesset plenum will likely vote late tonight for the first reading of the controversial Reasonableness Standard Bill, which would block the court’s ability to evaluate the reasonableness of lawmakers’ decisions.

While the agenda for Monday’s plenum has not yet been published, a number of coalition members said last week that they expect the first reading to occur Monday. The plenum begins at 4 p.m. and the opposition is likely to filibuster for as long as it can – meaning that the actual vote may only occur late into the night or even early Tuesday morning.

All secondary school students in England to be offered free flu vaccine

The government has announced an expansion of flu vaccine eligibility after it said in May primary school pupils would be offered the jab.

More than three million secondary school pupils in England will be offered a free flu vaccine from September. 

The government confirmed on Tuesday it was expanding the scheme to all secondary school students.

It was announced in May that primary school children were eligible for the free vaccine, along with other groups at higher risk of flu including people aged 65 years and over, pregnant women and children aged two and three years old.

In his opening address to a meeting of the Church of England’s ruling body, the General Synod, Stephen Cottrell dwelt on the words “Our Father”, the start of the prayer based on Matthew 6:9–13 and Luke 11:2–4 in the New Testament.

“I know the word ‘father’ is problematic for those whose experience of earthly fathers has been destructive and abusive, and for all of us who have labored rather too much from an oppressively patriarchal grip on life,” he said.
