Bombshell filing: 9/11 hijackers were CIA recruits

At least two 9/11 hijackers had been recruited into a joint CIA-Saudi intelligence operation that was covered up at the highest level, according to an explosive new court filing. 

A newly-released court filing raises grave questions about the relationship between Alec Station, a CIA unit set up to track Al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden and his associates, and two 9/11 hijackers leading up to the attacks, which was subject to a coverup at the highest levels of the FBI.

US Urged Ukraine to Cut Its Losses & Leave Artemovsk: 'Pentagon Leak'

Artemovsk (Bakhmut), located north of the city of Donetsk, has been the scene of hostilities between Russia and Ukraine for months now, with heavy fighting continuing in the western parts of the important transport hub.

Washington had warned Ukraine that it would not be able to hold Artemovsk and that its forces would "likely be encircled" there by Russian troops, a "leaked" US intelligence document allegedly obtained by the Washington Post showed.

Ukraine Receives Its First Patriot Missile Defense Systems

Kiev received the Patriot air defense system from the US and Germany, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov confirmed on Twitter. While Kiev will only receive a limited number of advanced interceptors, Reznikov said Ukraine had realized its "dream."

"Today, our beautiful Ukrainian sky becomes more secure because Patriot air defense systems have arrived in Ukraine." He tweeted Wednesday, "Our air defenders have mastered them as fast as they could." Reznikov went on to thank the US, Germany and the Netherlands for keeping their pledge to transfer Patriots to Ukraine. 

Israel to test ‘warning system’ in Ukraine – media

The new technology offers advance notice of, but no defense against, incoming missiles

Israel will test an early warning system in Ukraine next month, Axios reported on Thursday. While the system is reportedly more capable than Ukraine’s existing missile detection technology, it cannot stop incoming fire.

Israeli military officers met with their Ukrainian counterparts in Poland several times in recent months to arrange the trial, Axios reported, citing officials from Kiev and Tel Aviv. The trial will take place in Kiev, and if successful, be expanded to other Ukrainian cities.

US military releases declassified video of fully armed Russian fighter jets intercepting American jets over Syria on two separate occasions

US Air Force Central says that armed Russian crafts have directly flown over Coalition-held territories in Syria 26 times between March 1 and April 19 of this year. 

AFCENT said the video was captured Tuesday by an American fighter aircraft and is similar to videos from the past shot by advanced targeting pods used by US tactical combat jets, according to The Drive. 

The caption from the video calls it 'declassified footage of a Russian Su-35 that violated Coalition Force airspace in Syria.' 

Iran says its navy forced US submarine to surface as it enters the Gulf

 Iran's navy forced a US submarine to the surface as it entered the Gulf, Iranian navy commander Shahram Irani told state television on Thursday, in the latest report of an apparent confrontation between Iranian and US forces in the Gulf.

"The US submarine was approaching while submerged, but the Iranian submarine Fateh detected it and carried out... maneuvers to force it to surface as it went through the Strait (of Hormuz). It had also entered into our territorial waters but ... it corrected its course after being warned," Irani said.

China’s People's Liberation Army Starts 3-Day Naval Drills

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - China’s People's Liberation Army will kick off three-day naval military drills around the southern Chinese province of Hainan in the South China Sea on Friday.

The exercises will start on 18:00 local time (10:00 GMT) on April 21 and end on 8:00 local time (00:00 GMT) on April 23. A temporary navigation ban will be imposed in the area of the drills.

There is no information about what forces and means will be deployed during the military exercises.

House China Committee To War-Game A Chinese Invasion Of Taiwan

The House’s new panel on China will be war gaming a Chinese invasion of Taiwan to explore ways the US can respond in the latest example of the US government preparing for a future conflict with Beijing.

Axios reported that on Wednesday evening, members of the China committee, which is led by Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-WI), will take the role of US officials in the war game that will be conducted by a Center for a New American Security (CNAS).

SpaceX’s Starship failed to reach orbit on Thursday, exploding just minutes after takeoff as it could not separate from the booster rocket. Elon Musk’s space exploration company described the event as “a rapid unscheduled disassembly” but said the test resulted in valuable insights.

The orbital test was originally scheduled for Monday, but had to be postponed after a problem was detected with one of the valves. The launch was rescheduled for Thursday morning from the company’s test site at Boca Chica, Texas.

Massive gold heist at Pearson International Airport investigated by Mounties

A news report Thursday said that 3,600 pounds of gold — worth more than $100M — being moved through the airport had been stolen

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police confirmed they are looking into a gold robbery at Pearson International Airport. Gold mined in Canada can travel through Pearson on its way to customers around the world.

The airport did not respond to a request for comment. Peel Regional Police, who are responsible for the area, asked for the Mounties’ help, the RCMP said.

TikTok said the changes, which are being rolled out ahead of Earth Day, would help "empower accurate climate discussions" and "reduce harmful misinformation".

TikTok is to start removing videos that deny the existence of climate change.

The popular short-form video app said it was updating its misinformation policy to target any content which "undermines well-established scientific consensus" about global warming.

Any clips which contain misinformation about the climate crisis will be removed.
