Russia’s objectives in Ukraine have not changed, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday during a press conference in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.
“Nothing has changed,” Putin confirmed, saying the final goal is “to liberate Donbass, to protect these people and to create conditions that would guarantee the safety of Russia itself. That’s it.”
NATO to move 300,000 troops to high alert over Russia threat
The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) is preparing to increase its high alert force size to 300,000 troops in response to Russia’s military aggression along the eastern edge of the alliance.
In a press conference on Monday ahead of a summit of alliance members in Madrid, Spain, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said alliance members will discuss ways to bolster their defenses in the eastern flank of the alliance, including increasing troops.
Russia publishes Pentagon coordinates, says Western satellites 'work for our enemy'
LONDON, June 28 (Reuters) - Russia's space agency published the coordinates of Western defence headquarters including the U.S. Pentagon and the venue of NATO's summit on Tuesday, saying Western satellite operators were working for Russia's enemy - Ukraine.
Dmitry Rogozin, head of Roscosmos, told the Russian RIA Novosti news agency: "The entire conglomerate of private and state orbital groupings is now working exclusively for our enemy."
Biden supports deal that will allow Finland, Sweden into NATO - US official
President Joe Biden supports a deal that will allow Finland and Sweden to join NATO and played a behind-the-scenes role in the Nordic countries' negotiations with Turkey, a senior US official said on Tuesday.
Turkey dropped its opposition to Finland and Sweden joining NATO in time for the alliance's annual summit in Madrid. The official, speaking to reporters on condition of anonymity, said Biden spoke to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan about NATO earlier on Tuesday at the request of the two nations.
IDF stopped hackers from hitting US power plants - Unit 8200 official
This is the first time a current Unit 8200 official discussed such sensitive cyber intelligence sharing in public.
The deputy chief of IDF Unit 8200, “Col. U.,” on Wednesday said that his intelligence agency warned the United States of attempts to hack the country's power plants in time to thwart the cyberattack.
Although this was not the first time these warnings to the US have been made public, it was the first time a Unit 8200 official had discussed sensitive cyber intelligence in public.
The most well-known example was Israel’s 2017 warning to the US about Russia’s Kaspersky antivirus software being used as a way to backdoor spy on them or plant malware.

Rationing sugar, corn oil and French fries might be the first great benefit of this disaster. Those markets have inadvertently discovered the cause of the vulnerabilities that sickened some from a routine respiratory virus -- immune suppression by bad diets. Maybe a few of them will begin to learn to maintain their own immune health, and to realize the government won't. I expect government subsidies to maintain the sickness. Our greatest pandemic is ignorance, and our worst virus is bureaucratic totalitarianism.
