I expect a lot of people are going to be much more cautious about lining up for mystery cures. The medical industry has seriously damaged their credibility and reputation. It's going to take some work to rebuild public trust.

Smallpox and probably monkeypox only requires time you break in the skin to infect. I had that vax as a child, as did my kids, back when it was routine. Used a applicator with half dozen small tines poked on the shoulder. Hardly felt. Leaves a scab and scar about half inch diameter. Monkeypox is a different virus but same family as smallpox, so they probably need different vax.
