Smallpox and probably monkeypox only requires time you break in the skin to infect. I had that vax as a child, as did my kids, back when it was routine. Used a applicator with half dozen small tines poked on the shoulder. Hardly felt. Leaves a scab and scar about half inch diameter. Monkeypox is a different virus but same family as smallpox, so they probably need different vax.
