Horrendous! I myself left the US in March 2020 to avoid forced injection, having had my health nearly destroyed in 2014 by a damn H1N1 shot. It was scary to leave, thinking I might never be able to come back -- and I only had two small suitcases of stuff. But in retrospect it was one of the best things that's ever happened to me. IIRC, the pandemic definition was of wide-spread SERIOUS illness that was assumed to be contagious, having high mortality. (Something likely not ever achieved without such as wide-spread famine from such as volcanic eruptions resulting in sun-blocking long enough for crop failure/or widely-applied poisoning, as with 'polio', caused by several crop-sprayed toxins.)

I've been irritated by the gobshites who use the expression "the pandemic" since day one. There is no valid scientific evidence of contagion and the "covid" diagnosis did not require any symptoms at all ("asymptomatic"). Diagnoses were based on fraudulent, impossible-to-validate lab tests.

I finally realized that the reason I'd had 3-week flu(s),for decades, was that I would always immediately take o t c sympton-relieving meds. I struggled, as you had, with how I connected my sniffles with a memory of interacting with a friend who had the sniffles.
After the Covid psyop, I started to notice that no matter how many friends and family that were overtly sick and sniffling, I remained well with no symptoms.
Either my immune system is more protective against an invisible “virus” or my resistance to whatever has irritated my colleagues is stronger. Of course there could be dozens of other reasons for their symptoms and my lack of symptoms.
But, as you pointed out, our natural tendency is to seek out a source for our illness and we have been conditioned to look for an exposure to a symptomatic friend.
I make the same connection when watching hockey. If I leave the room for a few minutes and the opposing team scores, I sometimes think the cause was my inattention to the game, so when I focus on rooting for my team and they come back to score and eventually win, I take some of the credit. This is logically ridiculous, but it’s similar to assuming an invisible illness causing transmissible virus.
