I was listening to a Rabbinical lecture online once... and no, I have no idea which one (I listened to too many). But the speaker told a story that went like this.
There was a young boy with two sisters, and his mother and father. He felt outvoted whenever they talked about doing something. So he prayed to G-d to bring him a little brother, so it would be balanced. He said if G-d granted him a younger brother, he would become an Orthodox Jew.
But he added: "I want to make sure this came from you, Lord, not by coincidence. So to show that this came from you, have my little brother have the same birthday as me."
A few months later his mother told the children "I have a surprise! I'm pregnant!" And the boy was "I know."
The time came near for delivery. His mother's doctor was going out of town during the expected delivery date. So she opted to have a Caesarean, only a couple weeks before our protagonist's birthday.
The boy was disappointed that his mother ruined the timing. But figured that his brother arrived pretty close to his own birthday, and figured it would have landed on his birthday if his mother delivered naturally, so he became an observant, Orthodox Jew anyway. In fact, he became a Rabbi.
One day, many years later, he told this story to his mentoring Rabbi. His mentor got very excited. "What is your birthday?" he asked.
[I'm paraphrasing from memory here, I don't remember the exact dates.]. "Oh, my birthday is April 25, and my brother's birthday is April 12th."
And his mentor said: "I don't mean by the Gregorian calendar! What's your birthday on the Hebrew calendar?"
Stunned, he sat there for a moment. "I don't know!" he admitted.
So they looked it up.
Turned out he and his brother had the same birthday after all, on the Hebrew calendar.
