I look at the instructions on various frozen foods, etc. You end up spending the same amount, or even more of, time. Plus you have to keep opening the door and stirring or doing this and that.
If you put your food in a pot on low to medium heat, with a trivet, and leave it alone, it won't burn and you are not constantly hovering over it. The only food that has to be almost constantly stirred is a pudding, probably. You can clamp a stirring device onto the pot if you need to walk away from it.
Microwaving food is most unusual - it "cooks" in reverse order, i.e., heat transfer is all different. Goes against nature.
