Ground forces push further into Gaza City, ‘deepening pressure’ on Hamas, IDF says
Fighting reported near Shifa Hospital; IDF: Strikes on field commanders ‘significantly harm’ group’s ability to counterattack; IDF chief: Israel can ‘reach anywhere in Mideast’
Israeli forces on Monday pushed further into the Gaza Strip and were reportedly nearing the enclave’s main Shifa Hospital — which Jerusalem says is located above Hamas’s command center — as they continued to target Hamas’s underground tunnel network and military capabilities, after launching intensive strikes against the terror group the night before.
In a daily briefing, IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari said ground forces were “deepening the pressure on Gaza City,” where Hamas’s main stronghold is believed to be, after they managed to isolate and surround the northern Strip.
Northern towns bombarded as 30 rockets fired from Lebanon; IDF shells launchers
Hamas claims responsibility for firing 16 projectiles, triggering sirens in Nahariya, Acre and nearby towns; Kiryat Shmona urges remaining residents to evacuate due to attacks
Terrorists in Lebanon bombarded Israeli towns with rockets on Monday, stepping up attacks on the increasingly tense northern border, as Israel presses on with its offensive in the south against the Gaza-ruling Hamas terror group.
The military confirmed that in the span of an hour, some 30 rockets were fired from Lebanon at northern Israel. It said troops responded with artillery shelling at the sources of the fire before later announcing airstrikes on sites belonging to Hezbollah, as rocket sirens sounded repeatedly in the community of Shtula.
Lebanon: Why no second front?
Hezbollah has power without responsibility, operating its own mini-administration across the nation with a great degree of impunity.
A much-trumpeted speech on November 3 by Lebanon’s Hezbollah leader, Hassan Nasrallah, was, in the event, rather less than overwhelming.
For starters, there was no sign of Nasrallah himself. Thousands of Hezbollah fighters and supporters packed a square in the southern suburbs of Beirut to greet their leader, but their leader wasn’t prepared to greet them.
Yemen's Iran-Backed Houthis Launch New Wave Of Drones Against Israel
Update(1410ET): At what is obviously a highly dangerous moment where the United States has two carrier strike groups and a nuclear-powered submarine parked in regional waters (a rare build-up even during the prior "global war on terror" years), Yemen's Iran-backed Houthis have launched a wave of drones toward Israel:
Yemen’s Houthis launched a new batch of drones against sensitive targets inside Israel on Monday, according to a statement from their armed forces broadcast by TV channel Al Masirah.
The statement said the targets of the drones were “varied and sensitive” and led to halting the movement in the targeted bases and airports for hours.

A new watchdog report reveals that the country of Afghanistan has received a staggering $11 billion in foreign aid from the United States since the country’s collapse in August of 2021.

China denies censoring Israel on maps
Chinese and other social media users expressed shock this week after finding that Israel was not explicitly demarcated as a country on Baidu and Alibaba’s online digital maps. Shaun Maguire, a partner at the investment firm Sequoia Capital, called the move a “major provocation from China.”
China’s foreign ministry, however, dismissed speculation that it had changed its stance on Israel’s borders during a press conference Tuesday, saying that Beijing recognizes the country on official maps.

Ankara has chastised Secretary of State Antony Blinken for Washington’s defense of Israel, Hurriyet has reported
Türkiye has told the US that its stance on the Israel-Hamas conflict has both tarnished its reputation and put the entire world community in a tough spot, Hurriyet reported on Tuesday.
According to the Turkish daily, Ankara conveyed that message during a meeting between Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Monday, which concerned the current crisis in the Middle East.
"Hitler's Dream Come True" - Poles Outraged Over Ex-Ambassador's Suggestion German Troops Be Stationed Permanently
Polish conservatives have expressed their outrage over recent remarks from Germany’s former ambassador to Warsaw, Arndt Freytag von Loringhoven, who suggested in a German newspaper that German troops should be stationed in Poland permanently
In an article published in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, von Loringhoven waxed lyrical about a potentially liberal-led coalition government under Donald Tusk taking the reins in Poland, and expressed his hope that such an administration would repair the ailing relationship between Berlin and Warsaw.

Western officials had previously said widespread corruption was one of the main obstacles preventing the country from joining the bloc
The European Commission will officially recommend starting membership negotiations with Ukraine on Wednesday, Reuters has reported. An unnamed senior Ukrainian government official told the agency that Kiev expected the Commission to deliver a “positive” appraisal of its membership bid, according to a Monday article.
The final decision will be made at an EU summit in December, with the bloc’s executive body having to prepare a report on Ukraine’s progress across seven reform areas by that time.
No elections now – Zelensky
Ukraine’s leader has said a vote can’t be held while martial law is in effect
The time is not right for elections in Ukraine, President Vladimir Zelensky said on Monday. His comments come after months of pressure by the West to hold a parliamentary vote in the country.
Parliamentary elections, which were supposed to be held this month, have been postponed indefinitely on account of martial law, which was instituted in February 2022.
Putin To Seek Re-Election In 2024 For 5th Term: Reuters
It should not come as a shock to anyone that Russian President Vladimir Putin has decided to run again in Russia's 2024 presidential election, according to a Reuters report on Monday which cited six anonymous sources, given especially the war (or rather, 'special military operation') that he authorized in Ukraine is still in full swing.
"The decision has been made — he will run," one source was quoted in Reuters as saying. A 2024 run would mark his fifth term as president, and the legal path was paved when in 2020 the Russian population voted to overwhelmingly approve an overhaul to the national constitution.
Russia says it test-fired ICBM from nuclear submarine
Russia's military successfully tested an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) from its new strategic nuclear submarine, the Imperator Alexander III, the country's defense ministry said Sunday.
Why it matters: The announcement comes three days after Russian leader Vladimir Putin officially revoked the country's ratification of a global ban on nuclear weapons testing amid heightened tensions with the West over his war on Ukraine.
Space becomes new theater of war: Israel shoots down a ballistic missile that was traveling 62 miles ABOVE Earth
Space has become the new theater of war after Israel shot down a rocket soaring 'outside of Earth's atmosphere.'
The Israel Defense (IDF) revealed last week that its Arrow missile defense system took down an 'aerial threat' allegedly fired by Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen.
While details are sparse, the accepted boundary between Earth's atmosphere and space is 62 miles above the surface, known as the Kármán line.
Insurance Industry Execs ‘Alarmed’ by Surge in Deaths Among Young People — But Stop Short of Blaming COVID Shots
Executives at the largest insurance companies in the United States are alarmed that teenagers, young and white-collar Americans in the prime of life are inexplicably dying at a record pace, causing a “monumental outflow” of death claims and drag on profits that is shaking the industry and causing some to take a fresh look at the problem.
According to an Oct. 26 report in InsuranceNewsNet, U.S. insurance companies expected higher-than-normal payouts from excess deaths during the COVID-19 pandemic.
China begins imposing mask mandates again as Coronavirus cases spike
Chinese officials are once again telling the public to wear masks as various respiratory diseases surge alongside a rise in coronavirus cases.
China’s state-run Global Times on Friday quoted epidemiologists who claimed the surge of pneumonia, influenza, bacterial infections, and coronavirus cases was not too far out of line with projections for China’s autumn and winter sick seasons, although their comments implied influenza infections severe enough to require hospital visits were picking up steam a little earlier than usual in the southern provinces.

Why Are Online Banking Services Suddenly Being Disrupted On A Massive Scale All Over The United States?
Should we be concerned about all of the problems that are suddenly erupting at our banks? U.S. banks have been shutting down hundreds of branches, they have been laying off thousands of workers, and as I discussed yesterday vast numbers of customer accounts are being unceremoniously shut down without any warning whatsoever. If all of that wasn’t bad enough, now endless “glitches” are plaguing our banking system. For example, the glitch that caused paychecks not to be deposited at many banks on Friday still has not been fully resolved…
Nashville Mayor's Office, MSM Flips Out After Trans Shooter Manifesto Leaks; Authenticity Confirmed
Update (1740ET): The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department (MNPD) said Monday that the three images included with the alleged first three pages of the Christian Covenant School shooter’s manifesto are not "crime scene images," the Daily Caller reports.
Conservative political commentator Steven Crowder posted photographs of three pages which he alleged are part of a manifesto written by the now-deceased Audrey Hale, who killed six people inside the Covenant School with a firearm in Nashville, Tennessee, back in March. An officer killed Hale as she continued opening fire on the second floor of the building.
Virulent Antisemitism And The Rot At Our Universities
Jewish students at universities are being harassed and threatened in unprecedented numbers, with disturbing vitriol. That’s more than a danger for those students. It is a profound danger for a liberal, tolerant democracy.
The attacks and violent demonstrations shine a particularly harsh light on the sorry state of higher education. The public has watched mass demonstrations against Israel on campus after campus. The demonstrators never mention the victims of the Hamas massacres, never condemn the terrorists, and often go beyond their support for innocent Palestinians to cheer Hamas.
