Senators call for UN resolution designating Hamas as a terrorist org
Led by Sens. James Lankford (R-Okla.) and Jacky Rosen (D-Nev.) and addressed to U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield, the letter says that the lack of a U.N. terrorism designation of Hamas has created loopholes in U.S. sanctions against the terrorist group.
“The lack of a unified voice among the international community risks eroding the U.N.’s credibility in response to one of the worst terrorist attacks in history,” per the letter. “We are also concerned that a lack of U.N. sanctions enables Hamas to divert humanitarian aid for malicious intent, which deprives innocent Palestinian civilians of crucial assistance while simultaneously strengthening offensive capabilities used to attack Israel.”
Palestinians 'Disappointed' Hezbollah Hasn't Escalated A Northern War On Israel
On Saturday Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah gave his second speech since the Gaza War began, and there was little new that signaled he's ready to escalate; instead, it was mostly a reiteration of 'red lines' and more threats of possible future action.
He did emphasize that the war against Israel will be long and that "victory" would "take years" to achieve, after Hezbollah has already lost at least 63 of its fighters. He did pledge that "This front will remain active," in reference to southern Lebanon.
In response, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant told his troops who are deployed to the northern border, "Hezbollah is dragging Lebanon into a war that might happen."

Hamas planned to push October 7 massacre to the West Bank border - report
Under Hamas's original plan, it would have hit many other major Israeli cities and IDF bases and go as far as the West Bank, where it has allies in the form of local terrorist cells.
Hamas's original plan for October 7 went beyond just a massacre in the Gaza border area and taking hundreds of hostages, but to continue their assault up to the border with the West Bank, The Washington Post reported Sunday, citing Western and Middle Eastern security officials briefed on collected evidence.
This information was obtained from numerous maps, notes, supplies, and other written instructions found among the bodies of dead Hamas terrorists in the Gaza border area, as well as from interrogations of Hamas captives.
IDF says Hamas blocked fuel delivery to Shifa Hospital as troops advance in Gaza
Fierce battles continue near hospital as Israel reiterates it is helping staff, patients evacuate; Shin Bet says 20 terrorists arrested deep in Gaza, taken for questioning

US Seeks Clarification From Netanyahu After Remarks On Gaza's Future
Israeli and other regional media are reporting Sunday that the United States is seeking clarification regarding controversial assertions of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a press conference the day prior.

"This prompted US officials to request a clarification, which has shown the growing divide between Israel and the US over the war," Middle East Eye and others report in the wake of the comments. He also said that the Palestinian Authority (PA) cannot ever run the Gaza Strip.
Herzog: Macron told me he didn’t mean to accuse Israel of targeting civilians
French president changes line after attacking Israel’s bombing of ‘babies, ladies, old people’; president welcomes reversal, says comments ’caused much pain and upset in Israel’
French President Emmanuel Macron on Sunday called President Isaac Herzog to clarify his position on the war in Gaza, appearing to engage in some damage control over highly critical comments he made about the Israeli war effort against Hamas on Friday. Macron told the BBC there was “no justification” for Israel’s alleged bombing of “these babies, these ladies, these old people” and said “there is no reason for that and no legitimacy. So we do urge Israel to stop.” He also reiterated a call for a ceasefire in Gaza — which Israel has rejected as handing victory to the Hamas terror group.

The U.S. and Israel are unsure of how many hostages that Hamas terrorists took on Oct. 7 are “still alive,” national security adviser Jake Sullivan said Sunday.
Sullivan made the comments during an appearance on ABC’s “This Week.” He said the U.S. remains focused on securing the release of the nine U.S. citizens and one U.S. green card-holder believed to be in Hamas custody. He said that while Israel is classifying all 239 missing individuals as hostages of Hamas, there is no way to be sure how many of them are “still alive.”
