Russia comes under Ukrainian drone attacks – officials

UAVs have reportedly been intercepted in several parts of the country

Ukrainian drones targeted several Russian regions overnight, officials have said. One attack resulted in a fire in Belgorod Region, local media have claimed. Russian air defenses intercepted four plane-type UAVs on Tuesday morning, the Defense Ministry reported. Three were taken out over Belgorod Region, and another over Kursk Region. An explosion in Belgorod Region caused a fire at an “infrastructure object,” Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said

The UK has urged Germany and other Western nations to donate long-range weapons to Ukraine despite a leaked tape of top German military commanders discussing how Taurus missiles could be used against Russia. The UK and France have already provided to Kiev dozens of air-launched Storm Shadow and SCALP missiles, which they produce jointly. In the leaked recording released last Friday, high-ranking German officers discussed a proposal to donate Taurus missiles and what actions Berlin would have to take for them to be deployed and for plausible deniability of German involvement to be maintained.

Defense Ministry Reveals Possible Scenario of Attack on Russia

An air-ground or air-sea operation could be launched against Russia that would begin with a rapid global strike and several massive missile and air strikes at the same time, reads an article in Military Thought magazine, published by the Russian Defense Ministry.

According to the article, foreign experts are considering the emergence of new military structures called "joint operational formations." These should be compact, highly mobile, multi-sphere groups of troops capable of inflicting a comprehensive defeat on an enemy's administrative, political, and military-industrial infrastructure in all fields: land, sea, air, space, and information.

Sudan Has No Objection to Creation of Russian Navy Base

ANTALYA (Sputnik) - The Sudanese authorities have no general objections to the creation of a Russian navy base in the country, Sudanese Foreign Minister Ali Al-Sadiq Ali told Sputnik.

"We have no fundamental objections to the agreements reached under the previous government. This is an obligation of the state," Ali said on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum. Sudan's new parliament will consider the agreement with Russia on the creation of a nave base in country after the elections, Ali added.

North Korea Condemns Joint US-South Korean Military Drills

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - North Korea strongly condemns the joint military exercises between the United States and South Korea, calling them provocative, a spokesman for the North Korean Defense Ministry said on Tuesday.

"The US and the ROK kicked off again the provocative large-scale joint military drills to boost the unpredictability in the situation in the area of the armistice state … The Ministry of National Defense of the DPRK strongly denounces the reckless military drills of the US and the ROK," the spokesman said in a statement, published by North Korean state-run news agency KCNA.

Foreign Minister Israel Katz says he has recalled the country’s UN ambassador for consultation over alleged UN attempts to keep quiet a report on sexual violence perpetrated by Hamas during its October 7 onslaught on southern communities.

“I ordered our ambassador to the UN, Gilad Erdan, to return to Israel for immediate consultations regarding the attempt to keep quiet the serious UN report on the mass rapes committed by Hamas and its helpers on October 7,” Katz says in a statement.

The IDF on Monday night revealed the name of four additional UNRWA officials about whom it said it has “decisive proof” of their involvement in the October 7 massacre, to be added to the 12 previous names disclosed. The names of the UNRWA officials have been disclosed as Yusuf Zidan Suliman Alhajri, Behr Mahmud Abdallah Dariush, Assan al-Jabari, and Mamdouh Hassij Ahmad al-Kahk.

According to the IDF, each of the four have set roles in UNRWA in health, education, and other positive roles while wearing a dual hat with set, sometimes senior roles, in terror groups.

According to Basem, a ceasefire is necessary for Hamas to ascertain how many and which hostages it is still holding.

According to the Israel Defense Forces, at least 10 rockets were fired from Lebanon at the Western Galilee. Some of the projectiles were intercepted by the Iron Dome air defense system.

Patnibin Maxwell, 31, from India, was killed by anti-tank fire in Margaliot in northern Israel on Monday, Israeli media reported the following day.

He came to Israel in December of last year to work in agriculture. Another two Indians were seriously wounded in the Hezbollah attack. India's embassy in Israel on Tuesday advised its nationals working in Israeli border areas to move to safer parts of the country.

The sale of the Northeast Gasoline Supply Reserve is among the provisions intended to raise funds in one of six bills setting out appropriations for some federal departments this year after Congress narrowly avoided another shutdown last week.

Under a bill providing funding for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) for the fiscal year, a million barrels of the government's strategic reserve of petroleum would be sold off—the same amount as in the NGSR, which is located in New York Harbor, Boston, Massachusetts and South Portland, Maine.

More Than $11 Million In Fentanyl Pills Seized In Massive Bust At U.S./Mexico Border

U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officers (CBP) at the San Ysidro Port of Entry made a massive bust over the weekend, discovering more than $11 million of blue fentanyl pills concealed in a car on Sunday. 

At the San Ysidro POE around 8PM on Sunday night, a K-9 unit encountered a "37-year-old man driving a 2008 sedan applying for admission into the United States from Mexico," a release from Customs and Border Patrol revealed over the weekend. The K-9 unit alerted for drugs near the glove compartment and the vehicle was referred for further inspection, at which point "CBP officers extracted a total of 100 packages containing blue pills concealed within the vehicle’s dashboard and within the front passenger seats".

Nepal to Assign Unique ID Number at Birth as Part of Digital ID Program

Digital identity for individuals will soon start at birth or shortly thereafter in Nepal, where the government has begun issuing digital numbers to children as part of birth registration, according to a report from The Kathmandu Post.

The move is part of a transition from citizenship certificates to biometric smart national ID cards that will include a photo, personal data and fingerprint biometrics. “We have been informally providing national ID numbers to people at their birth registration across the country for the past two months,” confirms Mukesh Kumar Keshar, director at the Department of National ID and Civil Registration, which issues the digital ID numbers and biometric smart cards. “Such numbers are being given to around 2,000 people a day.”
