An anonymous Lebanese Treasury official told the Saudi-affiliated media source, Al-Arabia, on Sunday that Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Asia and the Middle East in the Office of Terrorist Financing and Financial Crimes, Jesse Baker, demanded Lebanese officials stop and prevent the funneling of financial aid from Iran to Hezbollah and Hamas, on Thursday. The Treasury official also said that Baker informed them of "specific concerns" about "the movement of Hamas funds through Lebanon" as well as funds that relate to Hezbollah. According to the official, Baker also called for "proactive measures" to prevent this from happening in the future.

The Wall Street Journal based their report on sources from both Hamas and Egypt, suggesting the stance of the leader of the organization in the Gaza Strip, who insists on ending the war, is at odds with the views of other high-ranking members of the movement

A report in the Wall Street Journal on Saturday detailed the challenges in negotiations over the release of kidnapped Israelis held in the Gaza Strip. Husam Badran, a senior official in Hamas' political bureau, reiterated the organization's demands, which include ending the war, withdrawing all IDF forces from Gaza, returning displaced individuals to the north of the Strip, and creating a rehabilitation plan.

Reports: Hamas checking if Marwan Issa, terror group’s number 3 in Gaza, killed in IDF airstrike

The Israeli military reportedly attempted to assassinate Marwan Issa, the deputy head of the of Hamas’s military wing, in a recent airstrike in the central Gaza Strip.

According to Hebrew-language media reports, Issa was hiding in the Nuseirat camp. Overnight between Saturday and Sunday, the IDF carried out an airstrike on a building where he was believed to be. Reports say five Palestinians were killed in the strike, although it is unknown if Issa is among them.

Houthi leader promises 'more surprises' for US, Israeli ships

Many observers say that the Houthis are exploiting pro-Palestinian sentiment among Yemenis to continue the attacks.

Houthi leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi announced on Thursday that the group had carried out 96 missile and drone attacks over the past five months, targeting 61 ships in the Red Sea and the Persian Gulf. The Houthis also confirmed that they had introduced submarine warfare into their operations, reflecting the development of their military capabilities and raising international concerns.

Military officials are investigating a “large balloon and payload” discovered by fishermen off the coast of Alaska last week, the Department of Defense confirmed on Friday.

“A U.S. commercial fishing vessel recovered portions of … what appears to be a large balloon and payload caught in their nets while fishing off the coast of Alaska,” Sue Gough, a spokesperson for the Defense Department, said in an email. The agency would not characterize the balloon as a spy or surveillance device.

A U.S. Air Force pilot says they saw something they couldn't readily identify that was the "size and shape" of an "Apollo spacecraft" during a sortie from Eglin Air Force Base in Florida last year, according to recently declassified documents.

AI robot sparks outrage after ‘groping’ reporter during live interview

There are already fears of artificial intelligence (AI) taking our jobs, or even ending humanity all together. Now a robot has been filmed apparently groping a woman in Saudi Arabia.

The seven-second clip was taken at DeepFest in Riyadh – an event billed as the ‘premier meeting place for the global artificial intelligence ecosystem’. During the showcase, reporter Rawya Kassem was seen speaking in front of the AI robot, called Mohammad, when it appeared to reach out and attempt to touch her inappropriately. Ms Kassem immediately flinched, and turned around with her hand raised, appearing to admonish him while continuing her job. Mohammad, developed by Saudi AI and robotics firm QSS, is described as the ‘latest marvel in robotics’. Dressed in a traditional outfit, including a red keffiyeh, Mohammad introduced himself to the crowd in Arabic.
