Update (1520ET): Shortly after Bloomberg broke the news, DeSantis dropped out of the Republican presidential primary Sunday. In a video message, he endorsed Trump.
After coming up short, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and his top aides are reportedly having internal discussions over when and how he should drop out of the 2024 presidential race, according to Bloomberg, citing people briefed on the campaign's conversations.
Iran & US Use Saudi Arabia To Swap Messages, Seek To Cool Gaza Tensions
Nine months since Riyadh and Tehran restored ties after years of animosity, Saudi Arabia has assumed a new role as an intermediary between Iran and the United States, three sources in Iran told Middle East Eye. High-ranking officials in Riyadh have been instrumental in relaying messages between the countries and reducing tensions over Israel's war on Gaza.
The process began in November, when Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian attended an emergency summit in Riyadh on the Gaza war attended by leaders from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and Arab League countries. An Iranian insider familiar with the matter told MEE that Amirabdollahian carried with him a message for the US to give to Saudi officials.
Pentagon Sends Direct Message to Iran: ‘We Don’t Seek a Regional Conflict’
The Pentagon’s message to Iran is clear: the United States does not seek a regional conflict but is taking action to counter Iran’s support for proxy attacks against U.S. forces and commercial vessels in the Middle East.
Deputy Defense Press Secretary Sabrina Singh emphasized that the U.S. has repeatedly called on Iran to stop its support for these groups and is backing up its words with actions, including recent strikes against the Houthis, who are being supplied weapons by Iran.
IRGC, Hezbollah helping direct Houthi attacks on shipping — Iranian sources
Regional officials say Tehran has stepped up weapons supplies to militia, advisers providing know-how and intelligence support
DUBAI (Reuters) — Commanders from Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) and Lebanon’s Hezbollah group are on the ground in Yemen helping to direct and oversee Houthi attacks on Red Sea shipping, four regional and two Iranian sources told Reuters.
Iran — which has armed, trained and funded the Houthis — stepped up its weapons supplies to the militia in the wake of the war in Gaza, which erupted after Iranian-backed Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, the four regional sources said.
Netanyahu: We reject ‘outright’ Hamas demands for hostage deal
"We continue the fight on all fronts and in all sectors," Netanyahu said. "We grant no immunity to any terrorist."
Israel has “utterly” rejected Hamas’s demand that the IDF end its military campaign in Gaza in exchange for the release of the remaining hostages in Gaza, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday night.
“To date we have returned home 110 of the hostages,” Netanyahu said, emphasizing that Israel is “committed to returning all of them. “This is one of the goals of the war and the military pressure is a necessary condition to achieving it,” Netanyahu stated.
As IDF closes in on Yahya Sinwar, is Israel any closer to Gaza hostages?
IDF soldiers are working nonstop to tighten the stranglehold around Hamas leadership.
Senior officials in the IDF estimate that a transition is underway to a new, very sensitive stage of fighting in Khan Yunis, with a greater chance of locating hostages.
The assessment comes against the backdrop of documentation published by the IDF on Saturday of a tunnel in Khan Yunis in which hostages had been held, in which a drawing by Emilia Aloni, a five-year-old hostage released in November during the hostages-for-prisoners exchange, was hung on the wall.
Iran considering next steps against Israel, US amid strikes - analysis
Escalation in Syria, Iraq, and the Red Sea, in which Iran may suffer more losses than it can easily replace, could be a challenge for Iran in the long term.
Iran was active in the region over the weekend, continuing to increase its threats to Israel and US forces. For instance, Iranian proxies in Iraq used ballistic missiles and rockets to attack Al-Asad Air Base in Iraq, where US forces are stationed. Several US personnel were lightly wounded because of the attack.
US Central Command said “at approximately 6:30 p.m. (Baghdad time), on January 20, multiple ballistic missiles and rockets were launched by Iranian-backed militants in Western Iraq targeting Al-Asad Air Base. Most of the missiles were intercepted by the base’s air defense systems, while others impacted on the base.
Who is winning the shadow war between Israel and Iran? - analysis
The Israeli Air Force has been freed up for a number of other missions in the Middle East after finishing the most intense part of the Gaza invasion.
This weekend, Hojatollah Omidvar, who served as the head of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Quds Force intelligence unit in Syria, was assassinated in the Damascus area, allegedly by Israel. Omidvar’s deputy and three other senior officials were killed in the same strike.
Back in June, The Washington Post reported that Omidvar, also known as Haj Sadegh and Yousef Omidzadeh, “identified US Humvee and Cougar armored vehicles in Syria” to have his henchmen attack them. He was also believed to be deeply involved in coordinating attacks against Israel.
Biden and Netanyahu face off in Biblical dispute: Two state or not two state
A difference of opinion concerning the future of a Palestinian state is the basis of dispute between the Biden administration and the government of Israel. While Netanyahu is not overtly religiously observant, it is well-documented that giving land in Israel to the enemy is counter to God’s commandments.
Last week,US Secretary of State Antony Blinken told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin a two-state solution based on the Oslo Accords signed in 1993 would create an unprecedented Arab state inside the borders of Israel that has been ethnically cleansed of Jews with its exclusively Muslim capital in Jerusalem.
US troops injured after barrage of rockets fired at Iraq air base
Iranian-backed militants have fired a barrage of rockets at US forces at Iraq’s Ain al-Asad air base, according to the US Central Command.
Several US personnel are undergoing evaluation for traumatic brain injuries after multiple missiles and rockets were fired at the military base, it has been revealed. The base, home to American forces in western Iraq, came under fire from multiple ballistic missiles and rockets at 6.30 pm (Baghdad time), the US Central Command said in a statement posted to X.
Top NATO chief warns we need to start preparing for all-out war with Russia
In a bleak outlook, Admiral Rob Bauer, who chairs NATO's Military Committee, said governments need to be ready to mobilise citizens and it's "not a given" that there will be peace
In a bleak outlook, Admiral Rob Bauer, who chairs the bloc's Military Committee, said people should get ready for conscription within the next two decades. He said it is "not a given" that member states are at peace, as he praised Sweden for preparing its citizens for war. He said: "It is the whole of society that will get involved whether we like it or not. That realisation, we didn't talk about that a year ago." The Dutch military chief said nations will need to mobilise civilians in case a global war breaks out - saying governments need to be "war ready".
EU Mulls $21 Billion Military Aid to Ukraine Bypassing Hungary's Veto – Report
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban announced last month that Budapest had vetoed 50 billion euros in the EU macro-financial aid for Ukraine.
The European External Action Service (EEAS) is developing a new plan to provide military assistance to Ukraine that will allow EU members to override Hungary's veto of the bloc's aid to Kiev, according to The Wall Street Journal.
Amid Waning US Support, Ukraine Seeks 'Game Changer'
Forces from Russia and Ukraine are fighting, bleeding, and dying in the trenches of Europe’s frozen east.
After so much gore, however, the end of this conflict still seems distant, and none in power appear confident that it'll go their way. A wild card in all this is the United States and the question of whether the world’s greatest military power can or will continue to provide direct security assistance to Ukraine.
The Biden administration, which pledged only months ago to support Ukraine for as long as it takes, is on the back foot, and money for a war on the other side of the world has run out.
US forming ‘colonial administration’ in Ukraine – Russian spy chief
Washington has told President Zelensky to put Western-educated officials in key roles, Sergey Naryshkin claims
ashington has begun creating “a colonial administration” in Ukraine consisting of local politicians who have sworn allegiance to the US, the head of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) has said. The US government has demanded that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky “remove” dozens of high-ranking officials, whom Washington no longer trusts, from their posts under various pretexts, Sergey Naryshkin claimed on Monday.
Russia's 'Dead Hand' Is a Soviet-Built Nuclear Doomsday Device
A lot of great technology was developed during the Cold War. Things like GPS, the internet and microchips were all developed as part of the arms-race tech boom. Unfortunately, so was the Novichok nerve agent, the world's largest nuclear weapon and Russia's doomsday device, just to name a few.
You read that right. Like something out of one of the worst James Bond movies, the Soviet Union developed a world-ending mechanism that would launch all of its nuclear weapons without any command from an actual human.
The Catalyst for the Next US Civil War?
Could this be the catalyst for the next civil war? The federal government warned the Texas National Guard to “cease and desist its efforts to block Border Patrol’s access in and around the Shelby Park area and remove all barriers to access to the U.S.-Mexico border.” Texas said NO and numerous states are sending resources to Texas to stand against the federal government.
Since the Biden Administration has adopted an open border policy, Texas has implemented a state law whereby they will arrest all illegal aliens entering their state. The federal government has done everything to prevent Texas from stopping the surge of migrants and neither side will cave.
Texas refuses to comply with Biden administration's cease-and-desist letter about border access
Texas is refusing to comply with a cease-and-desist letter from the Biden administration over actions by the state that have impeded U.S. Border Patrol agents from accessing part of the border with Mexico.
In a letter to the Department of Homeland Security, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton rejected the Biden administration’s request for the state to “cease and desist” its takeover of Shelby Park, an epicenter of southwest border illegal immigration in Eagle Pass.
Thousands of Votes in 2020 Election Misreported, Virginia Officials Say
Problem stemmed from a failure to properly program result tapes, officials say
Virginia election officials say that thousands of votes were misreported in Prince William County during the 2020 presidential election.
President Joe Biden, initially reported to have received 142,863 votes in the county, actually received about 1,650 more, officials said in a recent statement. Then-President Donald Trump was said to have received 81,222 votes but received about 2,320 fewer than reported.
Shocking Poll Exposes How Much the Elite Hate Us
A shocking poll exposes the utter contempt the elite holds the general public in, with more than three quarters wanting to ration food and energy to combat ‘climate change’ and a majority wanting air travel for holidays banned.
The survey was conducted by the Committee to Unleash Prosperity (CUP), a Maryland-based non-profit advocacy group. The organization polled members of America’s 1 per cent – defined as people who have a postgraduate degree and an annual income of more than $150,000.
77 per cent of elitists who were asked, “To fight climate change, would you favor or oppose the strict rationing of gas, meat and electricity?” said they would favor such a policy.
EU announces provisional agreement to regulate anonymous forms of payment
Last Monday, the Council of the European Union announced that the Council and the Parliament had struck a deal, a provisional agreement, on stricter anti-money laundering rules. The reason for the new regulations, so they claim, is to combat “terrorist financing,” a goal which has been fast-tracked since the 7 October Hamas terrorist attack on Israel.
As well as “enhanced due diligence” for crypto-asset service providers, the new rules set an EU-wide maximum limit of €10,000 for cash payments.
Johns Hopkins Says Gun Control Will Prevent Second Civil War
A new study published by Johns Hopkins own Bloomberg School for Public Health outlines the action items on the billionaire-funded gun control lobby’s wish list and makes the claim that those specific gun control provisions are crucial to stopping an armed insurrection in the United States.
The policy recommendations made by the study include regulating the public carry of firearms, prohibiting “paramilitary” activity, enacting unconstitutional red flag laws that remove due process, and finally (and maybe most sinisterly) repealing state-level preemption laws.
Citizens, Bank of America and Capital One wipe out dozens of locations in just ONE week as they become latest victims of the 'bank branch bloodbath'
Citizens, Bank of America, Capital One and Wells Fargo were among the US banks to close a total of 47 branches around the country last week.
Banks this year are continuing to shut costly brick-and-mortar locations as the industry increasingly favors online banking. Citizens Bank filed to close 17 branches in the second week of January, according to a bulletin published on Friday by its regulator, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC).
China is buying up large quantities of US farmland but how much and why?
America is seeing more and more of its most fertile land snapped up by China and other foreign buyers, yet problems with how the US tracks such data means it’s difficult to know just how much.
Foreign ownership and investment in US farmland, pastures and forests jumped to about 40 million acres in 2021, up 40% from 2016, according to Department of Agriculture data. But an analysis conducted by the US Government Accountability Office —a non-partisan watchdog that reports to Congress — found mistakes in the data, including the largest land holding linked with China being counted twice. Other challenges include the USDA’s reliance on foreigners self-reporting their activity.
Childless Future? Birth rate plunging as Millennials don’t want kids
Less than a fifth of millennials, specifically those between 26 and 35, are certain that they want to become parents one day.
This inclination further diminishes among individuals with pronounced environmental concerns. Simply put, four in five young millennials want to remain childless, especially if they dwell on climate change concerns. The study, conducted by the University of Southampton and the Generations and Gender Program, gathered insights on attitudes toward children, family, and various political issues. It involved a sample of 7,000 individuals ranging from 18 to 59 years old in the U.K.
Archaeological Research Confirms a Biblical Account in 2 Kings
“At that time Hazael king of Syria went up and fought against Gath and took it” (2 Kings 12:17). This short summary of what must have been a fearsome battle against the stronghold of Gath introduces the threat King Hazael posed to Jerusalem, a threat that King Jehoash of Judah avoided by paying Hazael with “sacred gifts.” But, yes, even this minor, one sentence mention of a battle is true historical narrative—it really happened—and it appears it has been confirmed by archaeology!
Canada now allows assisted suicide in National parks
Parks Canada, as an extension of Environment and Climate Change Canada, has only considered the death side of this policy and not the consequences for the living.
Isn't it possible that the J's lost their rights to the land when they rejected the Messiah 2000 years ago and were scattered? Genocide is so Old Testament, not consistent with "love thy enemy," I should think.
Seems as Jewish people in Israel don't believe in Freedom of Religion. It also seems that muslims are the most primitive people on the planet. Both hate each other. I say let them work it out among themselves.
