Japan says 5-metre tsunami expected after 7.5 magnitude earthquake in Ishikawa

People urged to evacuate quickly as tsunami up to 5-metres tall expected to northern shores

Japan has issued a major tsunami warning for its northern coastal regions after a magnitude 7.5 earthquake struck the Ishikawa province on Monday.

The tsunami warning has been issued for the coastal regions of Ishikawa, Niigata and Toyama prefectures, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency.

People living in coastal areas have been urged to quickly evacuate as waves of up to 5 metres are expected to slam the shoreline, public broadcaster NHK said, and to remain in place until all warnings are lifted.

Red Sea Chaos: Maersk Ship Hit By Missile; US Attack Helicopters Annihilate Houthi Rebel Boats

Maersk, one of the largest shipping companies in the world, suspended all container ship sailings in the Southern Red Sea after Iranian-backed Houthi militants attacked one of its vessels. This comes a day after the shipper reportedly attempted to restart sails in the critical waterway under the US' Operational Prosperity Guardian security umbrella. 

US Central Command wrote in a post on X that the Maersk Hangzhou container ship was struck by a missile while transiting the Southern Red Sea.

UK preparing to attack Houthis – The Times

London has reportedly drafted a “final warning” to the Yemeni militants, which may be followed by airstrikes

Britain is preparing to launch airstrikes against Yemen’s Houthi militants in response to a wave of attacks on commercial ships in the Red Sea, The Times reported on Sunday. The US and another European country will also take part in the strikes, the newspaper claimed.

London and Washington are expected to release a joint statement later on Sunday, warning the Houthis to immediately cease their attacks or face military action from the West.

The report by Qatari-owned outlet Al-Arabi Al-Jadid came as Egyptian and Qatari mediators have been trying to put in place a framework for a new ceasefire, though the sides do not appear to be close to an agreement.

The situation on Israel's northern border has become increasingly volatile and the IDF has been ramping up airstrikes not only on Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon, but in Syria as well.

This continued over the weekend into Sunday, after recent days of a series of attacks on Syria, which in one instance reportedly killed a group of high-ranking Iranian IRGC officers at Damascus international airport. Often Israeli warplanes use Lebanese airspace to attack near Damascus and in southern Syria.

U.S. Approves Emergency Sale of Munitions to Israel Amid Hamas Conflict

The United States has approved a $147.5 million sale of 155mm high-explosive artillery munitions and related equipment to Israel. The decision, made under an emergency provision, bypasses the typical congressional review process. This approval follows a recent authorization earlier in the month for the sale of nearly 14,000 rounds of 120mm tank ammunition to Israel.

As per the media reports, Kim is expected to ramp up weapons tests in 2024 ahead of the US presidential election in November. Last week, Kim said he would launch three more military spy satellites, produce more nuclear materials, and develop attack drones in 2024.

These cities are mandated to provide it by their own laws, and the Biden administration is not helping.

REPORT: Over 7,000 German Women Raped or Assaulted by Migrants Since 2015.

Migrants, especially those who entered Germany illegally during Europe’s migrant crisis, have raped and sexually assaulted over 7,000 German women since 2015, according to a report in the 243-year-old Neue Zürcher Zeitung newspaper.

The numbers are drawn from police crime statistics, which reveal more than 8,590 reported cases of rape and sexual assault by migrants. Over 90 percent of victims of sexual crimes are female.
