US President Joe Biden on Friday appeared to caution Israel against launching an operation in Rafah while hostage negotiations were ongoing, in his administration’s latest warning over an Israeli offensive in the southern Gaza city. Asked at the White House whether Israel has presented the US with a plan for how it will protect civilians in the IDF’s planned operation for Rafah, as he again urged on Thursday during a call with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Biden responded, “I’ve made the case, and I feel very strongly about it, that there has to be a temporary ceasefire to get the hostages out, and that is underway. I’m still hopeful that can be done.”

Weeks After US Journalist Dies In Ukrainian Custody, Biden Uses Navalny's Death To Push For More Russian War Funding
Update(1748ET): Journalist and geopolitical commentator Aaron Maté explains that despite news of Alexei Navalny's death in prison driving world headlines and eliciting remembrances and comments from Western government leaders on Friday, he was still largely an unknown within Russian politics and society [emphasis ZH]...
What [former United States Ambassador to Russia] Michael McFaul says here is a joke. Navalny was a marginal opposition figure who polled at around 2%. Putin didn't fear him; it served Putin to have him seen in the West as his main opposition. The Russian gov't meanwhile has just barred anti-war candidate Boris Nadezhdin.

"A Crooked New York State Judge, working with a totally Corrupt Attorney General who ran on the basis of “I will get Trump,” before knowing anything about me or my company, has just fined me $355 Million based on nothing other than having built a GREAT COMPANY. ELECTION INTERFERENCE. WITCH HUNT (more to follow!)," said Trump in a post to Truth Social.
"Biden Reelection Chances Do Not Look Favorable": Political, Economic Indicators "Not Promising", Gallup Finds
Several key indicators of the 2024 election environment indicate that President Joe Biden faces an uphill climb to win a second term. His job approval rating, Americans’ satisfaction with how things are going in the country and their confidence in the economy are below the levels associated with successful reelection bids in recent elections. While Democrats hold a slight edge in national party identification and partisan leanings, that advantage is smaller than what it has been in past presidential elections won by Democratic incumbents.

But is that their only target? The military build-up comes as tensions are rising between Somalia, Ethiopia and the disputed region of Somaliland. Should Ethiopia and Somaliland be worried?
"Civil War, Nuclear War, Economic Collapse... Maybe All Three?"
Have you noticed yet that America has turned into a Coen Brothers movie? Everywhere you look, you see madcap characters disgracing themselves while doing their bit to burn the whole country down.
It’s a panoramic extravaganza of everything gone wrong, with slapstick overtones, driving toward an apocalyptic climax — civil war, nuclear war, economic collapse, maybe all three. And all because the people on-screen just can’t stop lying.
In The Political Theatre It’s No Longer Coming Attractions But COMING DISTRACTIONS
The time between now and November’s presidential election should be called ‘The Era of “COMING DISTRACTIONS” because that’s exactly what society is now up against. “COMING DISTRACTIONS” will include anything to take the public’s mind off what is coming as soon as this May when the One World Order elitists strategize the take over of international health by the United Nations' World Health Organization (WHO).
France: “Article Pfizer” criminalising criticism of mRNA injections passed by National Assembly
On 15 November 2023, the French Senate reviewed a draft law, modifications to the Penal Code, that aim to crush dissent using hefty fines of up to EUR 15,000 and threat of jail time.
Anyone daring to criticise medical treatments could fall foul of this law. Considering the “covid vaccines are safe and effective” false narrative propagated by the government, this law is nothing short of outrageous. As the proposed law stands, anyone criticising mRNA injections, for example, could face 3 years in jail. As Died Suddenly posted on Twitter, Article 4 of the new law – or “Article Pfizer” as freedom fighters are referring to it – is a prejudgment of “alternative medicine” and a threat to whistle-blowers.

Facial recognition is entering New Zealand’s grocery stores and the rapid expansion of the technology has been filling the country’s newspaper headlines.
On Wednesday, Deputy Police Commissioner Tania Kura called for an open discussion on facial recognition trials in commercial areas, including the bias and privacy issues they entail. “I can see the benefits and the efficiency that can come and the reassurance it can provide some parts but how do we balance that with individual rights and freedoms,” Kura says, according to Waatea News. “It’s an interesting dilemma for us and I think New Zealand probably needs to have that open discussion as well because not everybody sees it the same.”
Chemical that may cause infertility discovered in Cheerios and Quaker Oats
A chemical that’s banned for use on edible plants in the United States has been found in Cheerios and Quaker Oats — and 80% of Americans have been exposed to it, according to a new study in Journal of Exposure Science & Environmental Epidemiology and shared on Nature. Chlormequat is a chloride salt, according to the National Library of Medicine, and is “registered for use on ornamental plants grown in greenhouses and nurseries.” However, it’s approved for use on edible plants in other countries — and in 2018, the Environmental Protection Agency allowed the importation of plants that had been treated with the chemical, the Environmental Working Group reports.

Jérôme Blanchet-Gravel, editor-in-chief and president of Libre Media, cautioned against the gradual erosion of freedoms under the guise of responding to exaggerated threats, such as those posed by climate change.
Just like I told my Quebec family over a year ago - climate lockdowns are coming. But hey, I'm just a nutter. .
