Canada’s travel ban on unvaccinated due to international regulation, not health
“Canada’s border measures are informed by obligations under the International Health Regulations (IHR). The IHR is an instrument of international law that is legally binding on 196 countries to limit the spread of health risks while preventing unwarranted travel and trade restrictions. Recognizing the IHR, Canada cannot impose health-related travel restrictions except in situations of public health emergencies (such as COVID-19). When doing so, Canada must recognize the rights of travellers concerning treatment of personal data, informed consent and non-discrimination,” the report reads.
Well, they’ve certainly failed on the “non-discrimination” aspect while abiding by the regulation.
The regulations in question are the World Health Organization’s International Health Regulations(IHR), established in 2005 following the 2003 SARS outbreak. Of course, Canada, as a member state, signed on to be legally bound by the international organization’s rules, as did several other countries.

Speaking to fellow members of the ruling Social Democratic Party over the weekend, the PM said Moscow’s ongoing invasion is a “flagrant violation” of international law, arguing that “Russia is not the neighbor we thought it was.” She added that this has prompted the government to rethink its long-standing policy of neutrality toward the NATO bloc.

Moscow won’t rule out breaking off relations with Western countries if they continue expelling Russian diplomats
If Western countries continue to expel Russian diplomats, Moscow won’t rule out the possibility of severing diplomatic ties with the states concerned, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov warned on Wednesday. He explained that the recent wave of expulsions threatens continued diplomatic relations.
“There is such a potential risk, since every day we are faced with such hostile actions. The expulsion of diplomats is a decision that closes the window of diplomatic relations,” he told the French TV channel LCI, when asked if Moscow would consider breaking off ties after dozens of its envoys were declared persona non grata in NATO capitals.

The EU’s top diplomat, Josep Borrell, has said the bloc is sending weapons to Ukraine so that the conflict with Russia does not end in Kiev’s defeat.
“We want it to end as soon as possible, but not in any way,”Borrell told the European Parliament on Wednesday.
“Because if we’re going to have a destroyed country that has been dismembered territorially and neutralized, with millions of people in exile, and millions of people dead, then no, we don’t want this war to end like this.”

It turns out that Scholz was in the process of brokering a deal and told Zelensky during his visit to the Munich Security Conference on February 19th, “that Ukraine should renounce its NATO aspirations and declare neutrality as part of a wider European security deal between the West and Russia,” and that “the pact would be signed by Mr. Putin and Mr. Biden, who would jointly guarantee Ukraine’s security.”
Canadian Public Health Agency looking at ways to increase enforcement of quarantine and public health orders across Canada
On Tuesday, April 5, 2022, the Standing Committee on Public Accounts had a meeting to discuss the Public Health Agency report on the “enforcement of quarantine and covid-19 testing orders”.
The meeting was primarily about the policies on “border control measures that were used to limit the spread of COVID-19”, Auditor General Karen Hogan said.
Hogan said that collecting travelers contact information increased the government’s ability to ensure compliance with quarantine rules, but that it was not enough to ensure all travelers adhered to quarantine rules.
Additionally, Hogan said that ticketing of people not in compliance with quarantine rules was not done equally across all provinces.

That is according to the mission statement of the Faith-based Organization Coalition, which is being formed under the state’s Department of Health and is expected to launch April 11.
The state aims to reduce vaccine hesitancy through the “Local Innovations in Vaccine Equity in Pennsylvania” project (LIVE PA), which is a grant program that pays churches and nonprofits to speak with their people and persuade them to get vaccinated.

The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), part of the National Institutes of Health, has launched a Phase 1 clinical trial evaluating three experimental HIV vaccines based on a messenger RNA (mRNA) platform—a technology used in several approved COVID-19 vaccines.
NIAID is sponsoring the study, called HVTN 302, and the NIAID-funded HIV Vaccine Trials Network (HVTN), based at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, is conducting the trial.
“Finding an HIV vaccine has proven to be a daunting scientific challenge,” said Anthony S. Fauci, M.D. NIAID director. “With the success of safe and highly effective COVID-19 vaccines, we have an exciting opportunity to learn whether mRNA technology can achieve similar results against HIV infection.”

While Shanghai continues its lockdown and massive PCR testing campaign as COVID-19 surges through the city, a CDC expert’s complaint about chaotic PCR test reports that have confused people was recently exposed online. Shanghai CDC issued a notice demanding staff answer public inquiries “in line with the policy.”
There have been complaints about the conflicting PCR test results on Chinese social media because people receive a negative test result on their cell phones but then receive a positive test result from the CDC.
Shanghai adopted the Healthcare Cloud app as its integrated Internet and Healthcare services platform. Locals register through the app for a PCR test and receive the test result on their cell phones. However, many people received a negative test notice via the app but still were then notified by CDC that they had tested positive and were thus subject to quarantine.
Complaints have flooded the Shanghai CDC hotline.
Shanghai defends policy of taking COVID-positive children away from their parents
(Natural News) Health officials in the city of Shanghai defended their policy of isolating children who test positive for the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) from their parents. The policy came amid China’s adherence to a zero-COVID policy to stem rising infections.
Wu Qianyu of the Shanghai Municipal Health Commission confirmed the eastern Chinese city’s COVID-19 policy on April 4. “If the child is younger than seven years old, those children will receive treatment in a public health center. For older children or teenagers, we are mainly isolating them in centralized [quarantine] places,” she said.
The health official added that the policy applies to children who test positive for COVID-19, but whose parents and family members do not. Wu also clarified that both children and parents who return a positive COVID-19 test result would be able to stay together as a family.

Lockdown restrictions, including adults wearing face masks, has left a generation of babies and toddlers struggling with speech and social skills, according to an official report.
Inspectors working for Ofsted found that infants being surrounded by adults wearing face masks for significant periods of time over the last two years has damaged their learning and communication abilities.
Those turning two “will have been surrounded by adults wearing masks for their whole lives and have therefore been unable to see lip movements or mouth shapes as regularly,” the report found.

A California Assembly committee has passed a radical bill that legal analysts say would legalize infanticide, letting babies die up to 6 weeks after birth.
Assembly Bill 2223, sponsored by Assemblywoman Buffy Wicks, D-Oakland, is one of eight bills that the Planned Parenthood Affiliates of California identified as a legislative priority this year and the Assembly Judiciary Committee held a hearing on the legislation today.
While more than a hundred individuals opposed AB 2223 in committee — in person or by phone — no individuals spoke in support of the bill. The only supporters of the legislation were pro-abortion groups like Planned Parenthood, NARAL and the ACLU.
