Russia officials say pipeline explosion caused by 'depressurization'
An explosion erupted in a gas pipeline outside St. Petersburg in Russia Saturday, according to a social media post by the governor of the Leningrad Region.
"Firefighters and rescuers extinguish a fire caused by a gas pipeline depressurization between Berngardovka and Kovalevo," Gov. Alexander Drozdenko said on Telegram. "There is no threat to the population and the spread of fire to residential areas."

Speaking at a conference of the Social Democratic Party in the southern German city of Friedrichshafen, Scholz admitted that many European citizens “are scared, and have reasons for it.” While highlighting the importance of supporting Ukraine militarily, he noted that Western countries should “be concerned that there is no escalation that could lead to a war between Russia and NATO.”
Russia ready for high-level talks with US if Washington willing -foreign ministry
Russian and US officials are expected to meet soon in the Egyptian capital of Cairo from Nov. 29 to Dec. 6 to discuss the New START nuclear arms reduction treaty.
Russia is not ruling out further high-level meetings with the United States on "strategic stability," Moscow's deputy foreign minister Sergei Ryabkov said on Friday, as an upcoming meeting between the two powers in Cairo on nuclear proliferation nears.
"If the Americans show interest and readiness, we will not refuse," Ryabkov was quoted as saying.

The European Parliament has prepared a resolution recognizing Russia as a "terrorist state" - to be subject of a vote held during a session in Strasbourg next week, according to a spokesperson's briefing at a Friday news conference .
The largely symbolic resolution was drafted by the center-right European People's Party (EPP) and cites Russia's "intimidation and destruction of Ukrainians as a nation," according a draft previously seen by Euronews.

“It is the duty of the international community and international assemblies to condemn the recent terrorist acts in Iran and not to provide a safe haven for extremists,” the ministry proclaimed in a statement.

The DPRK fired a Hwasong-17 missile from a site near its capital of Pyongyang early on Friday, the state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported on Saturday, calling the munition a “new type” of ICBM.

Azerbaijan is set to become the first Shi’ite Muslim-majority state to open an embassy in Israel, following parliamentary approval on Friday.
The new embassy, which The Jerusalem Post reported was in the works last month, will be in Tel Aviv, where the country already has a Tourism Office and a Trade Representative Office. Israel and Azerbaijan have had relations for 30 years, and there has been an Israeli embassy in Baku since 1993.

The Finance and Environmental Protection Ministries announced Thursday that Israel was joining a White House initiative to bring net carbon emissions down to zero by 2050 in all government activities, in an effort both to reduce global warming emissions and to set an example for markets to do the same.
An Environmental Protection Ministry statement explained that as the biggest employers in any economy, governments own large quantities of real estate and cars, and buy goods and services in great volumes. In so doing, they also contribute significantly to the human-caused emissions that are fueling climate change.

Biden To Hand Out Billions To Stop Developing Country From Using Coal
President Joe Biden and Indonesian President Joko Widodo on Tuesday announced a climate deal that will send Indonesia $20 billion over the next three-to-five years to push the country to shut down its coal plants.
The initiative is intended to help Indonesia, the world’s chief coal exporter, phase out coal production and switch to green energy in order to reach global targets for reducing carbon emissions, according to a White House fact sheet. Half of the money will be spent by countries that are part of the International Partners Group, including the U.S., Japan and Canada, while the other half will be provided by private financial institutions led by the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero to accelerate Indonesia’s green transition over the three-to-five-year period.
Canada: Federal Government Throws Away Millions More COVID Vaccines Due to Lack of Demand
The number of expired Moderna shots has risen to 7.7 million and the government has also now disposed of 3.1 million doses of the Novavax vaccine
The federal government is throwing away more COVID-19 vaccines, with nearly eight million doses of the Moderna vaccines discarded due to drying-up demand in Canada and around the world.
The National Post reported in June that the government had thrown away 1.2 million doses of Moderna’s shot that had expired, along with 13.6 million doses of AstraZeneca’s vaccine. The number of expired Moderna shots has now risen to 7.7 million and the government has also now disposed of 3.1 million doses of the Novavax vaccine. About 7,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine has been thrown away.
The federal government’s data for discarded vaccines are current as of the end of October this year and don’t include vaccines that may have expired and were discarded after they were sent to provincial governments.

Dozens of sheep have been eerily walking around in a circle for 12 days straight in northern China’s Inner Mongolia region. The bizarre behavior, captured on surveillance video, shows the large flock continuously marching clockwise in a nearly perfect circle on a farm.
Some other sheep can be seen watching from outside the rotation while others at times stand motionless in the center. Video of the strange scene was tweeted Wednesday by Chinese state-run outlet People’s Daily, which reported the sheep are perfectly healthy and the cause of the behavior remains a mystery.
