Russian Strikes on Ukraine’s Ammo Depots to ‘Further Deplete’ Kiev's Combat Capability

Over the past several days, Russian troops have intensified attacks on the Ukrainian army’s logistical infrastructure as part of Moscow’s ongoing special military operation.

Russian troops have destroyed three railcars with ammunition belonging to the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF), Vadim Astafyev, head of the Yug (South) battlegroup’s press service, told Sputnik on Monday.

Russian Air Defense Downs 2 Ukrainian Drones Near Crimea, Moscow Region

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Russian air defense suppressed two Ukrainian drones near Crimea by means of electronic warfare, as a result of which they fell into the water 40 kilometers (24.8 miles) northwest of the peninsula, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Tuesday.

"On August 21, at about 23:00 Moscow time [20:00 GMT], an attempt by the Kiev regime to carry out a terrorist attack with aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles was thwarted. Two Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles were detected and suppressed by electronic warfare by the air defense forces," the ministry said.

Moscow’s troops have improved their forward positions near the key Ukrainian city of Kupiansk, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on Monday. Ukrainian authorities had previously ordered a mandatory evacuation of the area around the logistics hub.

The Russian military said the troops had fended off four attacks east of Kupiansk, a strategically important settlement in Kharkov Region. The most intense fighting took place near the villages of Sinkovka and Novosyolovskoye in Russia's Lugansk People’s Republic, the ministry said in a daily briefing.

The Wagner private military company is continuing to recruit and is working hard “to make Russia even greater,” the head of the group, Evgeny Prigozhin, has said in a new video address. He added that Wagner is also seeking to help Africa become “even more free.”  

The short video emerged online on Monday and was apparently filmed in Africa. The PMC boss was armed and dressed in military garb while standing in a savannah-like landscape, with multiple armed men and gun trucks visible in the background.

US Reportedly Tests ARRW Hypersonic Weapon for First Time Since March Failure

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) - The US Air Force conducted the first test fire of the hypersonic Air-launched Rapid Response Weapon (ARRW) since a failed test in March, US media reported, citing a statement from the service.

The Air Force reportedly tested the weapon on Saturday off the coast of Southern California in an effort to gather information on hypersonic capabilities. The test was the first since a prototype of the weapon failed in March, media reported.

The Syrian Capital Voice news site reported that sites in or near the Damascus International Airport were targeted in the strikes. Additional reports by Syrian news sites indicated that sites near the city of al-Kiswah, south of Damascus, were hit in the strikes.

Nicaragua’s Communist dictator, Daniel Ortega, has authorized the installation of Russian military bases on his territory. The decree is reported to have been signed on Monday, August 21, according to the Russian state news site “Avia.Pro”.

The President of Nicaragua, Daniel Ortega, signed a decree according to which the deployment of Russian military bases and deployment of cruise missiles will be allowed in the country. This decision could become an important factor in the geopolitical balance of the region, especially given its close proximity to the United States. The Russian news site also highlights the distance between Nicaragua and the US capital, Washington: 3000 km.

“With such proximity, missiles stationed in Nicaragua can reach the US capital in no time” – the Russian website warns.

Former US president Donald Trump will need to post a bond in the amount of $200,000 by noon Friday if he wishes to stay out of jail, according to court documents made public on Monday by Fani Willis, the district attorney in Fulton County, Georgia. The court document lists an $80,000 bond for the alleged violation of the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organization (RICO) Act, and $10,000 each for 12 other counts. The remaining 28 charges against the former president do not appear to require bail.

Tropical storm Hilary slammed Southern California with a deluge of rainfall, flooding roadways and breaking records in parts of the region on Sunday as it made its historic arrival. California Gov. Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency for much of Southern California, with flash flood warnings in place until the early hours of Monday. 

The National Weather Service warned of record-breaking rainfall and possibly life-threatening impacts. By Sunday evening, several records for daily rainfall amounts had already been broken in the Los Angeles area, the weather service said.

In order to have a conflict free airspace, pilots are issued a NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) specifying a TFR (Temporary Flight Restriction) for drones + private and commercial aircraft.

A long-time Maui resident who was visiting Maui before the fires broke out, has uploaded video footage of what is really happening on the ground in Maui since the fires started.

TikTok user Geoff Cygnus has often had to hike up into the mountains to get a cell phone signal strong enough to upload his video footage.

It started out as just raw footage of the areas that were burned down with no commentary about how and why it happened, but as efforts to silence him increased, he began reporting more about how he was being attacked and how some were attempting to silence him.

CSIS Says Chinese Police Stations in Canada Part of Repression Operation: Report

Canada’s spy agency says that the Chinese police stations on Canadian soil are part of a network to track down high-level targets overseas and suppress dissent, according to recently released records.

The document, which was obtained by La Presse through the access to information regime and reported on Aug. 21, says the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) believes the stations are but one element the Chinese regime uses to conduct foreign interference.
