Iran threatens to close Strait of Gibraltar and Mediterranean Sea unless Israel stops bombing Gaza as US warns Tehran is 'deeply involved' in attacks on shipping
Iran has threatened to close off the Strait of Gibraltar and the Mediterranean Sea if Israel and its allies continue to commit 'crimes' in Gaza.
Iran, which has backed Hamas, accused the US and other western states of propping up Israel's alleged war crimes committed during its ground offensive in the Gaza Strip, where more than 20,000 people have died since October 7.

ST. PETERSBURG (Sputnik) - Member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) have signed a full-fledged free trade agreement with Iran, which should replace the temporary agreement in effect since 2019.
The signing took place on the sidelines of a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in Russia's St. Petersburg. The agreement was signed by the chairman of the board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), Mikhail Myasnikovich, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk and Iranian Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Abbas Aliabadi. The deal was also signed by representatives of Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.

Iran is "shortly" set to execute a dual Swedish-Iranian citizen accused of spying, according to the UN, after a Swedish court upheld the conviction of a former Iranian official.
Ahmadreza Djalali, a Swedish-Iranian disaster medicine researcher, was arrested in Iran on suspicion of espionage in 2016. He was accused in 2017 of having transmitted information to the Mossad - the Israeli intelligence services - on two people in charge of the Iranian nuclear program, which would have allowed their assassination between 2010 and 2012.
