Houthi attacks on Israel-linked ships in Red Sea to raise prices of Far East imports

Due to threat, global freight giants have halted Red Sea routes, diverting ships on longer, costlier voyage; shift set to impact Israel’s trade with Asia, as well as global trade

As Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi militants step up assaults on Israel-linked ships, the world’s largest container freight companies have temporarily suspended sending their vessels through the Red Sea, threatening to shut down a key trade route of Israeli imports and exports from the Far East and their passage to Europe.

Since the outbreak of the war between Israel and the Hamas terror group on October 7, the Houthis – also known as Ansar Allah – have increasingly been staging drone and missile attacks on Israel-related or affiliated ships in the Red Sea.

Also, the UK Navy disclosed more details regarding today's incident in the Red Sea, reporting that an explosion hit the side of a commercial vessel near Yemen. The Norwegian owner of the ship confirmed that an "unidentified object" had impacted the vessel on the port side.

CIA director meets with Qatari PM, Mossad chief to discuss hostage deal - report

CIA Director Bill Burns is set to meet with Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed Bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani and Mossad chief David Barnea in Warsaw to discuss efforts to reach a new hostage release deal with Hamas, KAN news reported on Monday.

A diplomatic source told KAN that the process "will be much more difficult than the formation of the previous deal."

Israeli army discovers ‘Sinwar’s secret’ – massive underground tunnel near Gaza border crossing

This is the largest tunnel discovered so far and runs nearly 2.5 miles

The Israeli army in recent weeks discovered a massive attack tunnel built by the Hamas terror organization that originates in Jabaliya and ends close to the Erez Border Crossing, the IDF announced on Sunday.

The tunnel runs about four kilometers (2.5 miles) in length, at a depth of up to 50 meters (165 feet) underground and is large enough for motorcycles and cars to drive through. One side of its tunnel shaft ends about 400 meters (a quarter mile) from the Israeli border.

Putin made the remarks in an interview with Russian journalist Pavel Zarubin that aired on Sunday, stating that Helsinki has not had any real “trouble” with Moscow for decades already – but now it will.

G7 Closer To Giving $300BN In Seized Russian Assets To Ukraine After Orban Blocked EU Funds

Group of Seven member states are moving closer to approving a controversial plan that would funnel some $300 billion of Russia's seized central bank and other sovereign assets (such as some oligarchs' superyachts) which have been "immobilized" in Europe to give to Ukraine.

"G7 members and other specially affected states could seize Russian sovereign assets as a countermeasure to induce Russia to end its aggression," a US policy paper being considered by the G7 states.
