Russia investigates alleged footage of Ukrainian troops torturing POWs
Unverified graphic footage purports to show Ukrainian servicemen shooting Russians at point-blank range
Russia has launched a probe after graphic video emerged online, purporting to show the torture of prisoners of war at the hands of Ukrainian servicemen.
“The video circulating online shows captured soldiers being shot in the legs without medical assistance,” the country’s Investigative Committee said in a statement on Sunday.
The head of the body, Alexander Bastrykin, has ordered “investigators to establish all the circumstances of the incident, collect and record evidence and identify all the persons involved in it to subsequently bring them to justice.” While it was not immediately clear where or when the disturbing videos were shot, some reports indicate the incident unfolded at a military compound located in the eastern Ukrainian region of Kharkov, which is used by “nationalist” units, the committee added.

A Ukrainian mayor has reportedly suggested that protecting the graves of Nazi soldiers might be reason enough for Germany to be more supportive in helping Kiev to fight off a Russian invasion.
Chernihiv Mayor Vladislav Atroshenko appealed to German media outlets on Saturday, urging them to tell their country’s leaders of the special interest they should have in the attacks on his besieged city, according to Ukraine’s UNIAN news agency. After detailing such perils as civilian casualties and struggles to evacuate the wounded, he noted that German soldiers killed during World War II are buried in the city.

US Navy veteran and independent journalist, Patrick Lancaster, has been making regular reports from Ukraine since the beginning of the crisis. His reports reveal that what is happening on the ground is not what Western corporate media would have you believe.

In his report on Friday, Lancaster interviewed residents of the ethnic Greek village of Sartana, one of the villages surrounding Mariupol, Ukraine.
“This is right on, what you could say is the frontline now. Nobody knows exactly where the frontline starts and ends at this point there’s just so much information and minute by minute the lines are changing,” Lancaster said.

Governor of the Bank of Finland Olli Rehn has called for Finland to join NATO using an arrangement similar to that of its northern neighbour.
"A defence alliance based on the Norwegian model would be a sensible option for Finland", Rehn said in an interview with the daily Helsingin Sanomat. "This would mean that no nuclear weapons or permanent NATO bases would be deployed in Finland. Such a defensive model would not threaten anyone", he added, venturing it would be acceptable for the Russian leadership.

A day before, President Joe Biden said in a speech that President Vladimir Putin “cannot remain in power” and had more critical words for the Russian leader. The comment prompted the White House to issue statements that Biden did not mean that the United States is pushing for a regime change in Russia.

A report released by the UK government has confirmed that 9 out of every 10 deaths related to COVID-19 are found in those who are fully vaccinated. Although the virus variant is the same and the UK approved only one different vaccine (AstraZeneca) from the United States, the data in the U.S. are different. This may be due in large part to the CDC definition used to identify who is “vaccinated.”

Azores volcanic island rocked by thousands of earthquakes begins evacuation as fears grow
Authorities on a mid-Atlantic Portuguese island hit by thousands of small earthquakes in recent days started evacuating people living at the bottom of coastal cliffs on Thursday as fears of a stronger tremor or a volcanic eruption grow.
Since Saturday, over 2,000 earthquakes, with a magnitude of between 1.6 and 3.3, have been recorded on the volcanic island of Sao Jorge in the Azores archipelago, according to the region’s CIVISA seismo-volcanic surveillance center.
About 200 of the recorded earthquakes, which had a magnitude of up to 3.3, have been felt by the population. Filipe Azevedo, who owns a hotel on the island, said people are “very scared”.

Why aren’t the same brainwashed concerned about beheadings in Saudi Arabia, detention camps in China, civil wars in parts of Africa, starving people around the world.
