Missile cruiser ‘Moskva’ was evacuated after an alleged “ammunition explosion” incident
The entire crew of the missile cruiser ‘Moskva’ was evacuated after an ammunition explosion caused by a fire, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a brief statement on Wednesday night, as cited by multiple Russian news agencies, including Ria, Tass and Interfax.
The cruiser suffered “serious damage,” the Russian military reportedly said, adding that the cause of the fire was under investigation. The defense ministry, however, has yet to confirm the incident on its official website, or share further details.

Finland to make decision on NATO entry in coming weeks not months
Until now, Finland and fellow Nordic state and neighbor Sweden have shied away from joining NATO, the US-led alliance founded in 1949 to counter the Soviet Union during the Cold War.
Finland will take a decision about whether to apply to join the US-led NATO alliance in the next few weeks, Prime Minister Sanna Marin said on Wednesday, underlining a shift in security perspectives since Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
Finland and fellow Nordic state and neighbor Sweden are close partners with NATO but have shied away from joining the 30-member alliance, founded in 1949 to counter the Soviet Union during the Cold War.
"We have to be prepared for all kinds of actions from Russia," Marin told reporters at a joint news conference in Stockholm with her Swedish counterpart.

A gigantic comet is actually the largest ever seen, new observations by the Hubble Space Telescope confirm.
Stretching about 80 miles (129 kilometers) across, the nucleus (or solid center) of the comet, known as C/2014 UN271 (Bernardinelli-Bernstein), is larger than the state of Rhode Island, according to a statement from NASA. And it's about 50 times larger than the average comet core.
"This comet is literally the tip of the iceberg for many thousands of comets that are too faint to see in the more distant parts of the solar system," David Jewitt, co-author of a new study confirming the comet's size and a professor of planetary science and astronomy at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), said in the NASA statement. "We've always suspected this comet had to be big because it is so bright at such a large distance. Now we confirm it is."
