Ukrainian presidential advisor Alexey Arestovich resorted to obscene language to criticize those in the West urging Kiev to cede part of the country's territory to Russia for the sake of peace.

“Go f**k yourselves with such proposals, you dumb f**ks, to trade Ukrainian territory a little bit! Are you f**king crazy? Our children are dying, soldiers are stopping shells with their own bodies, and they are telling us how to sacrifice our territories. This will never happen,” Arestovich said in an interview on Wednesday.

Israel will not permit Germany to sell Spike anti-tank missiles to Ukraine, according to a report by the US outlet Axios on Wednesday. The missile is produced in Germany under an Israeli license, and Tel Aviv has to approve its export. The Pentagon had asked the top Israeli defense ministry official for the approval during his visit to Washington earlier this month, but was denied.

Israel is concerned Russian soldiers could be killed by Israeli-made weapons, which would then lead to Moscow harming Tel Aviv’s security interests in Syria, an anonymous senior Israeli official told Axios.

Joe Biden angered China on Monday by suggesting the US would intervene if China invaded Taiwan, signalling a change in the policy of 'strategic ambiguity'.

He clarified on Tuesday there was no change to policy.

It is hypocritical and futile for the United States to say one thing and do another on the Taiwan issue,' he said.

China has never renounced the use of force to bring democratically ruled Taiwan under its control, and the Taiwan Strait remains a potential military flashpoint.

As Ukraine war drags on, Russia removes military age limits

Russian lawmakers passed legislation eliminating the existing age limit on serving in the military on Wednesday.

Russian military service had previously been limited to those between 18 and 40 years old, but the new legislation removes the upper limit. Russian President Vladimir Putin has yet to sign the legislation into law, however. 

"Today, especially, we need to strengthen the armed forces and help the Ministry of Defense. Our Supreme Commander is doing everything to ensure that our armed forces win, and we need to help," State Duma speaker Vyacheslav Volodin said in a statement.

The Municipality says to these people ‘we will assign you a score’, as part of a circular reward with economic benefits to individual users.”

Zelensky: I’ll speak to Putin directly about ending the war

Ukrainian President Volodomyr Zelensky said on Tuesday that he was unwilling to meet with any Russian official besides President Vladimir Putin in order to engage in negotiations around ending the invasion of his country.

Speaking through an interpreter via video link at the World Economic Forum Conference in Switzerland, Zelensky said he “cannot accept any kind of meeting with anyone coming from the Russian Federation but the president.”

In the past, the hour-long debate in Switzerland led to heated relations between Israel and Turkey.

Davos reveals building blocks for “green” social credit system

This morning, on one of the WEF’s live-streamed panels, Alibaba Holdings President J. Michael Evans claimed that the company is working on an app that could track an individual users carbon footprint.

The former-Goldman Sachs vice-chairman told the audience of the “Strategic Outlook: Responsible Consumption” panel:

We’re developing, through technology, an ability for consumers to measure their own carbon footprint. What does that mean? That’s where are they travelling, how are they travelling, what are they eating, what are they consuming on our platform. So: An individual carbon footprint tracker.”

Now, to clarify, Evans was only talking about Alibaba’s platform…but that’s a big platform.

86% of Twitter Users Know More About Public Health than Health Canada

Yesterday, Health Canada and Public Health Agency of Canada (“PHAC”) opened a survey on Twitter asking: “True or False: Vaccination reduces your risk of experiencing serious illness from COVID-19 and related #pregnancy complications.”

Five hours after opening their survey they added a comment to help users select the “correct” answer: “the answer is true.”

Despite this nudging from Health Canada, with four hours to go on the survey, 30,366 users had “voted” and 86.7% selected “false.”  It seems Twitter users know more about public health than Health Canada and PHAC.

Yet, says Joel Smalley, Twitter doesn’t slap a misleading label on Health Canada and PHAC’s account for falsely reporting that the mRNA shots are highly effective at reducing severe illness and pregnancy complications.

The NHS just edited their Monkeypox page…to make it scarier

A few days ago the UK’s National Health Service (NHS) edited their Monkeypox page to alter the narrative in a few key ways.

Firstly, they removed a paragraph from the “How do you get Monkeypox?” section.

Up until a few days ago, according to archived links, the Monkeypox page said this, regarding person-to-person tranmission [emphasis added]:

It’s very uncommon to get monkeypox from a person with the infection because it does not spread easily between people.

…this has now been totally removed.
