Ukraine threatens NATO member
“Something could happen” with an oil pipeline running to Hungary, a Ukrainian official has warned
Ukraine has “a wonderful lever of pressure” on Hungary via the Druzhba – which translates to ‘Friendship’ – oil pipeline, Ukrainian energy minister adviser Lana Zerkal claimed on Thursday.
Speaking during an online discussion at the Kiev Security Forum, Zerkal criticized the policy of the Hungarian government, which is blocking a sixth round of EU sanctions, one which would ban Russian oil. Western countries have imposed harsh restrictions since late February, when Moscow launched its military attack on Ukraine.
In Zerkal’s opinion, Hungary is using the Russian military offensive as an instrument to achieve its own goals and thinks that now it “can demand anything” from the EU.

US preparing to approve advanced long-range rocket system for Ukraine
Washington (CNN)The Biden administration is preparing to step up the kind of weaponry it is offering Ukraine by sending advanced, long-range rocket systems that are now the top request from Ukrainian officials, multiple officials say.
The administration is leaning toward sending the systems as part of a larger package of military and security assistance to Ukraine, which could be announced as soon as next week.
Senior Ukrainian officials, including President Volodymyr Zelensky, have pleaded in recent weeks for the US and its allies to provide the Multiple Launch Rocket System, or MLRS. The US-made weapon systems can fire a barrage of rockets hundreds of kilometers — much farther than any of the systems Ukraine already has — which the Ukrainians argue could be a gamechanger in their war against Russia.

A Texas school district has canceled classes for the rest of the week due to a “credible threat of violence”. The Donna Independent School District will be shutting down all its schools after police reportedly found an AK-47 and a list of targeted students in a suspect’s home.
“We’ve received a credible threat of violence that is currently under investigation,” the district said in a statement on Thursday. “In light of the recent events and in an abundance of caution, we will be canceling school district-wide classes and staff will work from home. The safety and security of our students & staff is our first priority.”

According to the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA), science teachers must cease using words like “parent,” “men,” “women,” “mother,” and “father” since they are “oppressive”.
The world’s largest association of science teachers has released a guide for science teachers on “anti-oppression” vocabulary, which includes instructions to refer to men as “XY individuals” and fathers as “persons with testes.”
In the guide, titled “Gender-Inclusive Biology: A framework in action,” the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) mothers are now referred to as “persons with ovaries” in reference to reproduction cycles. The NSTA also announces its support for biological men competing in women’s sports, declaring the move of various states toward “Sex verification in sports” as an example of oppression.

A very strong earthquake registered by the USGS as M7.2 hit southern Peru at 12:02 UTC on May 26, 2022. The agency is reporting a depth of 217.8 km (135 miles). EMSC is reporting M7.2 at a depth of 211 km (131 miles).
The epicenter was located about 13.1 km (8.1 miles) WNW of Azangaro (population 13 290), 30.3 km (18.8 miles) E of Ayaviri (population 19 310), and 73.4 km (45.6 miles) NNW of Juliaca (population 245 675), Peru.

People are also growing tired of COVID-19 safety regulations, said Bourla, who was speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, where world leaders and members of the business elite are gathered for an annual summit.
