The leadership of the ongoing blockade on Alberta's Southern border in protest of the pandemic lockdown restrictions has a message for the Alberta government.
Update February 3, 2022: Truckers at the border blockade now tell Rebel News they have resolved to stay at Coutts. Earlier statements about ending the blockade were a miscommunication. Supportive protests are expected to happen in cities across Alberta including Edmonton.
But the protest isn't over. It's just moving to Edmonton, Alberta — Premier Jason Kenney's place.

For the last 6 days, we have peacefully protested the vaccine passport, forced masking, and vaccine mandates. Instead of hearing from our Premier Jason Kenney, he has instead accused us of violence and of harassing the good people of Coutts, Alberta.
We have been patient for two years. We have invited dialogue, and we have been met with half-truths, empty promises, and flip flops. Our elected representatives were welcomed to come speak with us, and we have been met with silence.

Thousands of truckers from Canada as well as the US have descended upon Ottawa to protest a vaccine mandate. They have found voices of support among some Canadian Conservative MPs as well as former US President Donald Trump, who said the convoy was "doing more to defend American freedom than our own leaders by far".
American crowdfunding platform GoFundMe has “currently paused” the fundraiser for Canada’s ‘Freedom Convoy’ after donations to the anti-vaccine mandate protest crossed $10 million CAD.
Canadian govt decides whether to use military to deal with protesters
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has dismissed suggestions to use the armed forces to disperse demonstrators
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said on Thursday that the government would not yet consider sending in the military to deal with the truckers protesting Covid-19 restrictions in Ottawa.
Trudeau announced that Ottawa had not yet formally requested the deployment of armed forces to disperse thousands of protesters, who have been camped outside parliament since last week.
“One has to be very, very cautious before deploying the military in situations engaging Canadians,” Trudeau said during a press conference. “It is not something that anyone should enter into lightly.”
However, Trudeau did claim that the government would “of course, look at any formal requests [the city of Ottawa] sent us,” including requests for military action against protesters.
Premier Jason Kenney says that starting next week, his government will remove most COVID-19 restrictions – including proof of vaccination.

Well, now we have: Politico EU reports that a 3-year-old Cypriot boy was denied a heart transplant by a hospital in Germany allegedly because his parents weren't "fully vaccinated".
And it wasn't just Germany. The boy was turned away by hospitals in the UK and Israel for the same reason. Finally, a Greek hospital was found to do the transplant, but the story is going viral anyway as the latest example of COVID restrictions run amok.

A possible collaboration between the Internal Revenue Service and a startup called ID.me is alarming privacy experts and civil-rights advocates who say the partnership will create a massive new pool of sensitive personal data that could be tapped by the police, immigration enforcement, and other authorities.
ID.me verifies people's identities by asking them to upload information, including their Social Security number, a selfie, and pictures of a government-issued ID. It then uses facial recognition and "liveness detection" on the pictures, and compares the submitted information to data from "telecommunications networks, credit card bureaus, financial institutions," and other sources, according to its privacy policy.

Israel scientists say they have gathered the most convincing evidence to date that increased vitamin D levels can help COVID-19 patients reduce the risk of serious illness or death.
Researchers from Bar Ilan University and the Galilee Medical Center say that the vitamin has such a strong impact on disease severity that they can predict how people would fare if infected based on nothing more than their ages and vitamin D levels.
Lacking vitamin D significantly increases danger levels, they concluded in newly peer-reviewed research published Thursday in the journal PLOS One.

Are Israeli hospitals really overloaded with unvaccinated COVID patients? According to Prof. Yaakov Jerris, director of Ichilov Hospital’s coronavirus ward, the situation is completely opposite.
“Right now, most of our severe cases are vaccinated,” Jerris told Channel 13 News. “They had at least three injections. Between seventy and eighty percent of the serious cases are vaccinated. So, the vaccine has no significance regarding severe illness, which is why just twenty to twenty-five percent of our patients are unvaccinated.”
Censorship at its finest: Facebook removes page organizing DC freedom convoy
American truckers are following Canada’s lead and organizing a protest against vaccine mandates. The U.S. group’s Facebook page, however, was removed early Wednesday in a move that the organizer called “censorship at its finest.”
The group, titled “Convoy to D.C. 2022,” acted as a place for truckers to plan and coordinate their trek from California to Washington, D.C.
Jeremy Johnson, who set up the Facebook group, said his personal account was also removed, prompting him to contact a civil rights attorney to discuss the next steps.

The Russian office of the German state broadcaster, Deutsche Welle (DW), is to be closed as part of the “first round” of a response to Berlin’s “unfriendly actions” against RT DE, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Thursday.
The German outlet will also be barred from broadcasting in Russia via a satellite or through other means, the statement added. All staff members at DW’s Russian office are to be stripped of their press credentials, according to the foreign ministry.
New HIV super-strain is found in the Netherlands: Highly infectious variant makes people ill twice as quickly and has been spotted in at least 109 people
A new super-mutant HIV strain that makes infected individuals ill twice as fast as current versions of the virus has been detected in the Netherlands.
The new mutant — called the VB variant — has infected at least 109 people, according to a study by Oxford University.
The strain damages the immune system and weakens a person's ability to fight everyday infections and disease faster than previous versions of the virus.
It means those who catch this strain could develop AIDS more quickly.
The VB variant also has a viral load between 3.5 and 5.5 times higher than the current strain, meaning infected people are more likely to transmit the virus to others.

Board of Health Issues First Known U.S. Cease and Desist Order for Cell Tower Due to Ongoing Residential Health Complaints
Residents of a Massachusetts neighborhood have been reporting significant as well as life-threatening health issues ever since a Verizon cell tower was activated near their homes. In October 2021, The Board of Health asked Verizon to remove the tower but the company refused. Yesterday the BOH agreed to send the company a “Cease and Desist” Order.
On February 2, 2022, the Pittsfield, MA Board of Health unanimously voted to issue a cease and desist order to Verizon to shut down its tower located at 877 South Street. Families living in the neighborhood near the tower reported wireless radiation-related health issues soon after the tower became operational in 2020 and since then, have been working tirelessly to turn the transmissions off. This action is the first known cease and desist by a Board of Health in the United States.
The cease and desist order to Verizon would become effective in seven calendar days if Verizon fails to notify the Board that they are willing to come to a discussion and demonstrate significant commitment that they will do something “to resolve the issue to the board’s satisfaction.”
