UN Secretary-General Proposes ‘Global Digital Compact’ to Push Laws Against Online ‘Hate’

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, proposed a “Global Digital Compact,” (GDC) to push sweeping international laws against “hate and lies” online.

“The proliferation of hate & lies in the digital space is causing grave global harm. This clear & present global threat demands clear and coordinated global action. We don’t have a moment to lose,” he wrote in a tweet announcing the compact.

Russia Repels Ukraine's Drone Attack on Druzhba Pipeline in Bryansk Region

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Russian air defense repelled Ukraine’s overnight drone attack on the Druzhba oil pumping station in the Novozybkovsky district of the Bryansk Region, governor Alexander Bogomaz said on Saturday, adding that three aircraft-type drones had been downed.

"Last night, air defense units of the Russian armed forces in the Novozybkovsky district repulsed an attack by the Ukrainian armed forces on the Druzhba oil pumping station. Thanks to the professionalism of our military, air defense systems destroyed three aircraft-type drones," Bogomaz wrote on his Telegram.

Report: NATO Allies Weighing 'Easier' Plan for Ukraine to Join Alliance

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) - NATO allies are reportedly weighing a plan that could make it easier for Ukraine to join the military alliance without having to adhere to a Membership Action Plan (MAP) and chances are increasing that the proposal may become official during NATO’s summit in Lithuania.

Citing an official with knowledge of the developments, US media reported Friday that the idea, which has been put forward by NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg, should hopefully be consensual within the alliance.

The US does not see any signs that Russia is gearing up for the use of its nuclear arsenal, Secretary of State Antony Blinken has said. His statement came after Moscow revealed that it had deployed the first tactical nuclear warheads to neighboring Belarus. 

“We have no reason to adjust our own nuclear posture,” Blinken told reporters on Friday. “We don’t see any indications that Russia is preparing to use a nuclear weapon.”

House Oversight Chairman James Comer revealed Thursday that he expects there is evidence of at least $20-$30 million being made in illegal payments by foreign nationals to the Biden family.

Appearing on Fox Business, Comer stated “We have more bank records coming in but we’re gonna exceed $10 million this week but I think we’ll get up to $20-$30 million.”

He further noted that it is becoming clear that the Bidens potentially engaged in bribery, influence peddling, and money laundering.
