Man shot by FBI after making threats toward Biden

The suspect had “intent to kill” the US leader and New York prosecutor Alvin Bragg, officials claim

US federal agents have fatally shot a Utah man accused of making threats against President Joe Biden and other public figures, the FBI said, just hours before the commander in chief arrived in the state for an official visit.

The shooting unfolded early Wednesday morning as FBI agents attempted to serve a search and arrest warrant at the Provo, Utah home of Craig Deleeuw Robertson, who was identified in court documents obtained by several media outlets.

Russian Defenses Strike Down, Jam Multiple Drones Near Moscow & Crimea

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Russian air defenses downed and jammed multiple combat drones that were moving in the direction of Moscow while another batch neared the city of Sevastopol in Crimea, the Russian Defense Ministry has confirmed.

Initial reports voiced by Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin revealed that air defenses had shot down two combat drones flying toward Moscow at about 4 a.m. Moscow time (0100 GMT), one of which was downed in the Kaluga Region and the second in the Central Ring Road area

A Russian defence plant was evacuated this morning after a major explosion at the site sent a huge plume of smoke into the sky, towering over nearby buildings.

It came hours after Moscow became the target of another drone attack overnight, with Russia saying it had shot down two Ukraine UAVs near the capital, in the latest in a string of attacks on and around the country's capital in recent months.

The explosion at the Zagorsk Optical-Mechanical Plant also initially prompted reports of a drone strike, but this was quickly denied by Russian officials.

The dominant Orthodox church in Ukraine to which he belongs—which has frequently criticized the Russian invasion but has not broken communion with the Moscow Patriarchate (The Russian Orthodox Church)—has of late come under severe persecution by the state, with its clergy and monastics seen as "sympathetic" to Moscow. 

Poland Doubles Border Guard On Fears Wagner Fighters Might 'Infiltrate' 

Poland confirmed Wednesday that it is in the process of doubling the size of its guard forces along the border with Belarus, the latter which forms a 'union state' with Putin's Russia. 

Warsaw officials have put the number at an additional 2,000 troops being deployed amid ongoing fears of the Wagner mercenary build-up on the other side of the border. Wagner has been training Belarusian forces, and it is widely believed multiple thousands are now housed at bases there, after an invitation by President Viktor Lukashenko.

First Batch of US Abrams Tanks Belatedly Shipped To Ukraine As Offensive Hits Low Point

The first batch of Abrams tanks that the US is providing Ukraine was authorized for shipment over the weekend and is expected to arrive in the country in early fall, the US Army’s top acquisition official said Monday.

"The last of the set was officially accepted by the US government or the production facility over the weekend. So they are done," said Army Acquisition Chief Doug Bush, according to the War Zone.
