MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Eastern European allies led by Poland are secretly urging Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to end the Ukraine conflict, even by resigning himself, which the Ukrainian leader is refusing to do, Pulitzer Prize-winning US investigative journalist Seymour Hersh said on Wednesday.

Hersh mentions on his Substack page the group of countries led by Poland that are “urging Zelensky to find a way to end” the hostilities. They stress that he should put an end to conflict “even by resigning himself, if necessary — and to allow the process of rebuilding his nation to get under way."

Gay and lesbian couples will now be able to legally adopt children in Taiwan, after the island’s legislature voted in favor of the change on Tuesday. Taiwan became the first jurisdiction in Asia to legalize same-sex marriage four years ago. 

Previously, homosexual couples who wanted to adopt a child had to resort to a loophole whereby only one partner would register as the minor’s legal parent.

FBI Responds To Durham Report, Acknowledges 'Missteps'

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) responded to Special Counsel John Durham’s report on Monday by acknowledging mistakes in its 2016-2017 investigation of the Trump campaign and noting that the agency had rolled out reforms in response to the mistakes.

UK detects bird flu in two poultry workers - health agency

Britain has detected avian influenza virus in two poultry workers in England following testing for people who have been in contact with infected birds, the country's health security agency said on Tuesday.

"The two people returning positive tests are known to have recently worked on an infected poultry farm in England. Neither has experienced any symptoms of avian influenza and both have since tested negative," a statement from the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) said.
