Moscow conducts major ‘retaliation strike’ on Ukraine
The missile barrage came in response to a terrorist attack on Russia’s Bryansk region, the Ministry of Defense has said
Russian forces have delivered a massive missile strike on Ukraine’s military infrastructure as retaliation for Kiev's terrorist attack on Bryansk border region earlier this month, the Ministry of Defense said on Thursday. It added that all assigned targets had been hit.
In a statement, the ministry said that the attack involved “high-precision long-range air, sea, and land-based weapons, including the Kinzhal hypersonic missile system.” The latter has a range of more than 2,000 km.

Security officials in Moldova’s breakaway region of Transnistria have claimed that they foiled “a terrorist attack” targeting prominent local figures that was allegedly planned by neighboring Ukraine. Suspects have been detained and are being interrogated, the region’s State Security Ministry (MGB) said on Thursday. Transnistria borders Ukraine from the southwest.
RIA Novosti cited a source as saying that the culprits wanted to rig a vehicle with explosives and bomb the motorcade of Transnistrian President Vadim Krasnoselsky.

The Nord Stream pipelines connect Russia to Germany, and while the Nord Stream 2 Pipeline was never activated - prior to Russia's special operation in Ukraine - the Nord Stream 1 pipeline provided billions of cubic meters of natural gas to Europe. Both pipelines were destroyed on September 26, 2022.
The CIA reportedly warned its German counterpart, the Bundesnachrichtendienst, better known as BND, about a potential attack on the Nord Stream pipelines months before an attack was carried out in late 2022.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - The recent media reports about a group of strangers allegedly staying behind the Nord Stream blasts are "ridiculous" and aim to divert attention from accusations against the US, since that such sabotage could only be carried out by a few countries, Xavier Moreau, an arms expert from the French think tank Stratpol, told Sputnik.
The New York Times reported on Tuesday, citing US officials, that new intelligence suggested involvement of a "pro-Ukrainian group" in the Nord Stream incidents. At the same time, the US officials reportedly said there were no proofs of the Ukrainian leadership being involved in the operation. Meanwhile, German newspaper Zeit reported, citing investigators, that the attacks had been carried out by six people of unknown nationality with the use of a boat rented from a Poland-based firm, apparently owned by two Ukrainians.
