Nord Stream suffers unprecedented damage â operator
Estimating the destruction and repair timelines is as yet impossible
The simultaneous destruction of three gas pipelines in the Baltic Sea is unprecedented, Nord Stream AG, the operator of Nord Stream 1, said on Tuesday. It declined to provide a deadline for repairs.
The pipeline had been supplying gas to the EU until late August, when Russia slashed deliveries, citing technical difficulties resulting from Western sanctions.
âThe destruction that occurred on the same day at once on three strings of the offshore gas pipelines of the Nord Stream system is unprecedented. It is not yet possible to estimate the timing of the restoration of the gas transmission infrastructure,â the company said.

MOSCOW, Sept 27 (Reuters) - The Kremlin said on Tuesday that it did not rule out sabotage as a reason behind damage to the Russia-built network of Nord Stream pipelines which sprung unexplained leaks in the Baltic Sea.
The pipelines, designed to bring gas from Western Siberia's Yamal Peninsula directly to Germany, Europe's biggest economy, have been the focus of an energy war between Russia and its traditional European clients over the conflict in Ukraine.

A military recruitment officer was severely wounded after a man opened fire at a center in the town of Ust-Ilimsk in Irkutsk Region in Russiaâs Siberia on Monday morning, the local authorities have said. There were no other casualties in the attack, they added.
The incident occurred amid partial mobilization in Russia, which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin last week. According to Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu, 300,000 reservists are going to be drafted amid the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

But it turned out the cruiser wasnât alone as it sailed about 86 miles (138 kilometers) north of Alaskaâs Kiska Island, on Sept. 19.
The patrol boat, known as a cutter called Kimball, later discovered there were two other Chinese naval ships and four Russian naval vessels, including a destroyer, all in single formation.
