Ukraine is looking for "brave" investors as it seeks to sell big state-run companies at distressed prices to raise funds for its aid-dependent budget, Bloomberg reported on Thursday, citing the head of the State Property Fund (SPF), Rustem Umerov.
Currently, more than 3,500 companies are listed as state-owned with almost 1,800 of them bankrupt and non-functional. The list for privatization includes distilleries and grain elevators, which could be of interest to investors, as well as hundreds of abandoned facilities, which will likely see limited demand.

There are appropriate ways in which the US can support the Ukrainian people, but unlimited arms supplies in support of an endless war is not one of them," the letter, signed by 19 lawmakers and dated April 20, read.
Canada to Provide Ukraine With New Military Aid Package Worth $29Mln
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – Ottawa will provide Ukraine with a new military aid package worth $29 million to be spent on fuel and sniper rifles among others, Canada’s Ministry of National Defense said on Friday.
“Minister Anand announced that Canada is providing a new military aid package for Ukraine. This assistance includes A $34.6 million contribution to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Ukraine Comprehensive Assistance Package (CAP) Trust Fund ... Approximately $2.5 million for 40 .50 caliber sniper rifles and ammunition from Prairie Gun Works based in Winnipeg, which includes spare parts and accessories. Approximately $2 million worth of new radio sets (16 in total) from L3 Harris to accompany the Leopard 2 tank donations,” the National Defense statement reads.

The US and its allies have not delivered the tanks, artillery ammunition and other supplies that Ukraine needed for the spring offensive against Russia, the New York Times reported on Friday, citing the leaked Pentagon documents.
US military planners estimated that Kiev would need 253 tanks for the coming assault, but only 200 had been mustered by late February. Of those, 140 were Soviet designs while just 60 tanks of Western manufacture would be delivered by April, the outlet said.
IAEA Chief Says 'Deeply Concerned' Over Situation at Zaporozhye NPP
MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Rafael Grossi, the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), said on Friday he was "deeply concerned" over the security situation at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant (ZNPP), as the IAEA experts present there had reported about hearing explosions almost every day for the past week.
In late March, Grossi visited the ZNPP for the second time since the start of Russia's special military operation in Ukraine. He inspected the ZNPP together with the plant's management and responsible technical staff "to assess first-hand the serious nuclear safety and security situation at the facility and underline the urgent need to protect it," the IAEA said.
